  1. I am looking for a link for welcome tags that someone posted. I have searched and searched and can't remember where I saw the link for welcome tags, if anyone remembers and could post the link I would appreciate it. Thank you
  2. I am trying to create my AHR/wedding announcement invites and I am at a loss for words. I need something that announces that we were married in Mexico and then the invite needs to say something about our reception and I need to include a RSVP card. I am trying to avoid sending out an announcement and then having to send out a separate AHR invite. Any suggestions? Thank you
  3. I am not sure what to do for my guests regarding having a welcome dinner/rehearsal. I think we have decided not to have a private dinner for our reception since we are only having 10 people for our wedding, so our reception will be the free dinner at the resort. My question is what should I do the night before the wedding, do I host another dinner at the resort, private cocktail reception (which might look odd since there is only 10 of us) or don't do anything? I feel like I should do something since everyone is spending so much to be at my wedding! Any advice? Thanks, Jennifer

Hammered Milgrain Palladium Wedding Band I saw the palladium ring, maybe I can convince him to go that route! I think he wants platinum because my e-ring and wedding bands are platinum. Thank you for the suggestions I will keep looking. I think it is a ridiculous amount of money considering there aren't any diamonds.

I was thinking I could send STDs out for the AHR before we left for the DW. Then when we return I am sending out announcements/AHR invites. The time span doesn't make sense, the STDs would have to go out in Sept/Oct definitely before the bridal shower and the announcements/AHR invites wouldn't go out to Jan./Feb., I wonder if that would be confusing, considering I think I just confused myself.
  6. I am having trouble deciding who to invite and if the shower should be before the DW or when we get back and before the AHR. My FI and I decided to only invite to the DW both sets of parents and our closest friends, which is 4 couples, so we will be having a very small DW. There will be a max of 100 people invited to our AHR, so the guest list will consist of family (aunts, uncles, close friends), but we are also inviting some family friends of our parents and neighbors that we are close to. So, I guess my question is should I invite the neighbors and friends of our parents to the shower? The aunts and close friends will be involved in the planning of the shower. Also, the neighbors may or may not know about the DW, so I would hate to invite them and they not understand that we will be having a AHR when we return, is there anyway to include this in the invite? Any suggestions would be great, sorry this post is so long! Jennifer
  7. My FI finally decided on a wedding band, but the problem is it costs $3000.00. I found it for around $1700.00 on bluenile, but it doesn't look exactly the same, any ideas? It is has taken him forever to decide on a band and I hate to make him change his mind, but his ring will cost more than my 2 diamond wedding bands!! He has chosen a platinum, hammered, milgran ring, similar to this Platinum Wedding Band (6mm) by Novell at Shane Co Does anyone know where I could find this ring any cheaper? Any suggestions, should I suck it up and pay the $3000.00? Thank you, Jennifer
  8. Has anyone ordered totes from this site? I am considering the resort tote, but can't decide if I like it or not, any thoughts? bridesmaid tote NNICHOLS

Since there is no way to meet your destination wedding hairdresser beforehand, I just felt more comfortable going on a personal recomendation. Also, my FI doesn't like alot of makeup - so I'm just going to do my own MrsV-to-be, Could you send me/post the info for the playa hairdresser? Thanks, Jennifer

I am posting the link to the attachment Monica sent me regarding the $16.00 dessert reception. Buffet%20DESSERTS%202007[1].doc
  11. Monica just emailed me with more info on the dessert reception, here is what she said "Ho I see what you mean! we offer a private open bar for 2 hours at $8.00 US per person, this cost includes only the private location, open bar for 2 hours and high cocktail tables. We also have a dessert buffet, the cost of the les expensive one is $16.00 US per person (40 people minimum) and also includes 2 hours of open bar, private location, high cocktail tables and service. I am curios on how did you find out on this service as it is not available on our kit.. =)" I am assuming everyone already knew about this? Has the event kit changed for 2008 or did everyone just request this? The smiley face she put at the end of her email makes me nervous!

Thank you for posting this, it is more info than I was able to find. Monica keeps sending me the event kit and that just lists one dessert at $9.00/person, I am not sure she understands what I am asking, but I will try again. Do you know if this is can be setup in the swing bar? Also, are you purchasing this in addition to a wedding cake?
  13. I think I am going to stick with the free dinner, but am now considering the private dessert event. Can anyone direct me to information about the private dessert event and the fondue private event? I have emailed Monica about it, but she keeps sending the event list, which is not much help. From what I can tell the dessert event is now $9.00/person and the fondue is now $24.00/person. Also, Shannon I have a question about the private dinner on the beach for you and your guests, where did you find pricing info for this? I think it is nice gesture and am considering it as well. Thank you, Jennifer
  14. Oh no Jfwolfe, I am sorry, everything will be perfect!! I am just trying to go over all my options, it seems most people here are paying for a private event and I was hoping to get some feedback from those using the free dinner. The dessert option afterwards sounds perfect and I think I am going to look into that. Sorry again if I created any panic, definitely not my intention! One more question, Jfwolfe, are you having any type of cocktail party after your ceremony or are you just doing the free dinner and then the dessert?
  15. I have a couple of questions regarding my options for a reception at EDR. Starting with the free dinner, did anyone use the free dinner as there reception, did you show up in your gown and did you feel weird, was the table just in the middle of the restaurant or was it semi-private? Next, since I will only have 10-12 people at my wedding, I have the option to have a private event, but will have to pay for 16 people instead of the number I will really have, so I am still debating if this is worth it or not. What did you choose if you had a private event, it was recommended that I choose a la carte or the family style buffet. Any suggestions/advice would be great!! Thank you, Jennifer
  16. Your OOT bags look terrific, could you tell me who you bought the bags from? Thanks
  17. Where did everyone find their color swatches? Several family members want to know what color blue I am using for the wedding and I don't have anything to show them? I am absolutely clueless on where to find swatches, any suggestions? Thank you

They are much smaller than they appear on the website and not well made. I was suprised at how flimsy they are. To answer your question, they don't sit flat on the floor and would need to be propped up. I bought samples of the largest Lauhala bag from the Ailana.com site and they were faaaarrrrrrr superior in construction, they sit up on their own and they're only $3.50 a bag as opposed to the Palm Leaf Shoulder bag's $7.49. BTW, the handles are on the short side, so you can't comfortably hold them on your shoulder. Needless to say, I just bought 35 of the lauhala tote bag and am returning the Palm Leaf shoulder bags. My digital camera isn't working or I'd post pictures, but someone else posted pictures of the bag in this thread on pg 11 if you'd like to see them. Thank you for your response, the Ailana bag is the other one I was looking at. Which size did you get-approx 9"W x 7"H x 3"D) $2.50 (plain) or (approx 12"W x 10"H x 4"D) $3.75 (plain)? I am trying to decide between the 3rd largest or the 4th one.
  19. Since I am completely overwhelmed and can't decide on an OOT bag, I was hoping everyone could post a link and pic of the bag they chose. There are so many helpful threads with OOT bag info that I can't keep them straight, if a thread like this already exists could someone point me in the right direction!! Thank you
  20. I am considering these bags Palm Leaf Shoulder Bag : Unique Wedding Favors - Wedding Reception Favors - Bridal Shower Favors and was wondering if anyone knew if these bags sat flat on the floor or if they lean? Odd question I know, but it makes a difference. In the pic it says it can fit a water bottle, but not sure if the water bottle sits flat. Thanks, Jennifer
  21. Thank you for the responses, I am sure we will be fine!
  22. My photographer suggested that our ceremony start at 3:00 since the sun will set at 5:00 and that way we can make sure there is still enough light for pics. I am wondering if this is too early and am not sure what time the reception would start and if it would be too early for dinner, not sure what everyone will doing until the reception starts, any suggestions? Thank you
  23. I would like to buy OOT bags for the men that are different than what the women will be getting, I would like to find a bag that is insulated and one that they might actually use, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
  24. Does anyone know if it is safe to drink the water at EDR? I know at some resorts, like Moon Palace, they filter the water and it is safe. I don't think this has been mentioned on any reviews. Thanks
  25. BandE2008, I am also getting married there in Nov and am feeling the same way. The WC only started being nice to me when she got my deposit and your right the most recent reviews are a little discouraging. My biggest complaint is that I do not qualify for the free wedding because I am 3 nights short, the next package is insane and I would never spend that much purchasing a la carte, but a las, can't have the wedding without a package. Hang in there and I wish you the best. Jennifer
