  1. It should be really pretty! If you're ok with them wearing white, then why not? I love the idea of the sash and a colorful bouquet.

Our Bridesmaids dresses are somewhere on here. I told my girls to order whichever tea length dress they were most comfortable in in Tiffany (aqua) from the same company so they all match. They are Mori Lee and were about $115 total. I got $25 off each dress because I bought my dress from that botique.

Tricia this might be the pic you were thinking of?

  2. That's right, people are coming because they love and support you and your FI. OOT bags are not the reason they are traveling. I think they sound wonderful and will be a welcome surprise.

Put the wedding stuff away for a few minutes and give yourself some breathing room. Think of all the things you've accomplished so far to give yourself some perspective!

I'm going to have to mark this thread because I'm sure I will be feeling the same way 16 days before my wedding! At least you have your dress! Mine is on back order and not even supposed to be in until about a week before we leave!

  3. bI think your easy/safe response would be "that would be perfect and if we were having flower girls, they would definitely be the only ones I would ask. But we aren't having flower girls, so at least you won't have to worry about any extra expense."

That is great advice Tami. I hate when people pull that crap! We've been together for almost 6 years and have always talked about a DW. People could have started saving 3-4 years ago, or a year ago when we got engaged! I never asked, nor would I , someone to sell their posessions to come to my wedding, so don't imply it!

My stepmom was saying the same things, pretty much word for word. But she did call last night to say that she realized that it was my day and she wouldn't mind if I had pictures made with my parents together!

I've decided that most people nowdays are just crazy!

  4. Welcome Jen! I'm sure you will find tons of useful information on the forum.

Don't stress too much! Once you pick your location it's much easier to move forward. The research you're doing now will really help you out later on. I kind of did it backwards and had a few issues!

  5. I say stay out of it, especailly before the wedding. BIL may already know what is going on if this isn't the first time she's done something like this. In my experience, most people with a cheating parter know it--it's whether they admit it.

Your wedding is too close to cause a rift between you and your finacee. You will have enough on your plate that you don't need to worry about someone else and their actions.

I do think you need to tell her (alone) that you do not agree with her behavior and you would appreciate it if she doesn't get hammered and make out with the band at your wedding.

  6. Welcome! I'm so sorry to hear about your hotel! At least you aren't totally back to square one, you've had some planning experience. I'm sure the ladies will be very helpful to you!

  7. I like the enclosure cards in shower invites. I was brought up in an old-school family where it was inappropraite to print that info.

When I registered I got the little cards and passed them along to my mom, who will hand them out to the shower hostess.

After much debate, I did put the like to our registry on our web-site.

I can't BELIEVE someone would register for cash. That is the most uncouth thing I have ever heard! I wouldn't send them a present either, Maura!

  8. We're pretty close out of our 30 confirmed so far, with a few more friends than family. Of course some of my friends have been around so longer and are closer than family. My BFF from 1st grade will be there! I'd much rather have him than my cousin I see once every year or two!

  9. My dress was over my budget of $500. I ended up spending about $850 for the dress, so it will be $1000 by the time it is altered. It is a Casablanca. My seamstress said those were her favorite gowns to work with because they are so well made, even better than some of the couture gowns!

I was able to save money elsewhere though. I bought my veil online for $60 instead of $160 at the boutique. I found my slip on e-bay for $35 instead of $110. My earrings were on clearance at Macy's for $4!

  10. I've done the yoga booty ballet DVD once. It was a good cardio work out.

I also like the Carmen Electra Fit to Strip series.

Both are good if you have dance experience so you can use better/proper form.

I think that Pilates is the best work-out and it really uses the same muscles that you do when you do ballet. It build long, lean muscle instead of making you bulk up.

Those would be my best recommendations, but I guess not really appropriate if you are wanting to dance.

Do you have a local community center or ballet company that offers adult classes? My BM is trying to talk me into taking one with her!

  11. Michelle, You might want to check out sparkpeople.com I have had great success with the online food diary. It keeps track of your calories, fat, protein, etc. I thought I was doing a good job of self monitoring, but really wasn't. There is also a water intake measurement. There is a workout calculator that totals how many calories were burned during your workout. I need to use that page more than I do!

I find that if I have to write everything down, I don't eat what I know I shouldn't. This was a really bad weekend! Saturday I ate out all 3 meals! I'm scared to enter it because I know it was a million calorie day! LOL

In 3 weeks I've lost almost 10 pounds, really just by monitoring my foods. Lots of fresh vegetables and low-carb items. I think it was Alyssa that mentioned you need at least 1200 calories to lose weight. I'm in a 1200-1500 range.

  12. These are just a few from our first session. It was so cold neither of us could smile anymore, so we are going to have to do some others later. The week after Valentines. It's too bad because Mike was just starting to get used to the camera! He said he thinks he took more pictures that day than his whole life! We have been together almost 6 years and I think there are 4 pictures of us together!

We went to the track, Churchill Downs, where they run the Kentucky Derby every year. They have done some major renovations and it was beautiful!

These are still in "draft stage" We can adjust color, crop, etc.
