HI! I can offer you my opinion for what it's worth! I have been to the bahamas, flew out of philly, very short, nonstop flight. that would probably work but it is not that cheap. we stayed at the riu there, people were great, place was clean but slightly older plus it tends to be more money than some places. We have also been to the DR. It was okay but I don't think i would go back. We stayed in La romana which is south of punta cana. It was absolutely beautiful, without a doubt but it wasn't my type of place. I do hear great things about punta cana and it is a short flight. My TA said that when she helps people choose wedding locations, she usually says the DR, Mexico, and Jamaica based on price and location. We chose Jamaica and are super excited about it. And when you come back high as a kite, kindly walk yourself to the bathroom when you have to go! There is no need for you to pee on the floor unless you are in your 90s!

Hi Ladies! I will be at the Riu from 5/8 until the following Friday, whatever that is! We are getting married on the 12th. SO excited! Anyway, our guests are paying 990 for 4nights and round trip, nonstop from Philly! Can't wait! That was an awesome deal, the 2000 for 2 weeks!

Since I am new to this website, I am sorry if you already talked about this but I need help! When you guys booked your weddings at ROR, did the majority of you do it sight-unseen? Are you going by word of mouth or trusting your TA or what? It looks beautiful but I get nervous booking somewhere I have never been. We have been to St. Thomas and St. John, loved it! Have been to the Bahamas and liked it a lot. Been to the Dominican Republic, the beach and resort were beautiful but we were not big fans of the island itself. So, this being said, does it seem like Ocho Rios is a place that we will like or do you think we should go there first or do you think I should just stop overthinking Thanks! Amanda

Hi! I saw your list of activities and I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. We went to St. Thomas in mid-october and a lot of things there were closed. The stores at the Havensight mall were only opened one day when we were there (when there was a cruise ship) and the skyline thing, (can't think of the word at this second) was not open at all. I love St. Thomas, I loved my day at St. John even more. Trunk Bay rocks! Just be careful because things are not always open. oh, and the ferry to st john was not running as frequently when we were there. The locals told us that this was due to the off season.

We went to Paris in October. It was amazing! We were there for a week but wish we could have stayed for much longer! On the 19th, he took me to a great restaurant. We had an awesome dinner. After, he said he wanted to take pics in front of Notre Dame Cathedral. It was cold and I was tired so I did not feel like it. He said come on, just a couple pics. When we were done taking our pics, he led me to a bench. He sat me down and proposed to me! It was awesome! So very romantic, so very unexpected! I love him so much and I could not be happier!

Can I ask you guys a question? I am pretty sure that the Riu is where we are going to get married. I have been to the Riu in the Bahamas and I loved it. My question is this: if it is all inclusive, why do you have to pay extra for Hors D' Ouvres and open bar? Thanks! My mom and I were just wondering what the deal is!
