  1. First off, WELCOME BACK!!!!!

I see you recently got back from your wedding. I hope everything went just as planned for you. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! & I can't wait to read your review! I like the idea of an informal Meet & Greet, this sounds like us. BTW, does this 'beach bar" you mention, have a specific name or is it just the beach bar? I need to know so that I can put this info in our invites. What did you and your guests wear to go here? AND, why exactly was it your favorite hang outhuh.gif just curious to know.

    thanks :)

  2. We're using our Free Dinner option as our "Dinner for after the Ceremony", which I'm still having major trouble deciding between "Fuentes" or "El Cocotal"smile35.gif. But we still want to try to Welcome Guests in a nice way. We want to have like a Welcome Gathering Somewhere within the resort, but I don't know where. We want to tell guests to meet us a XXX place, at XXX time for Margaritas or something. Are there any nice places where we can arrange for this. I already have the "Martini Bar" picked out for guests to go to right after the ceremony (suggested by Valeria), where we will have signature cocktails waiting for them. Is there anywhere else you guys can suggest for a Welcome Gathering??

    Thanks!!!

    EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I really wish I knew how the tables would be at El Cocotal for the dinner - there are some people who CANT sit next to eachother, so I want to do a seating chart, but the resort keeps saying they decide the day of. So I am making about 20 different "scenarios" for seating! hahahaha!

ALSO! This is ticking me off
if you dont PAY to do EDR's Sand Ceremony (always about money right) they wont do it for you. I WISH I KNEW THIS before buying all my sand ceremoney stuff. So now I need to write my own sand ceremoney and I dont know how it will be performed and or by whom!
    ANNOYING!

    Huhhuh.gifhuh.gif
    What exactly do you meanhuh.gif
I want to incorporate the sand ceremony as well. EDR has gotten me to my last nerve, I tell you rant.gif

  4. Ok, so I am totally at loss with this. You would think I'd know better since I am planning my own wedding too, but go figure..doh.gif

Anyway, so my Fiance and I invited to my girlfriends wedding on Sat. and we don't know what to wear..huh.gif?? Her and her family are pretty high class, but I'm sure it's not a black tire affair either. We're mainly confused because of the schedule. Here's the timeline for her wedding day....

    Saturday November 1st, 2008

    Church Ceremony: 2:00 p.m.

**No Cocktail Hour according to the invite**

Adult Reception at half past 6 o'clock in the evening.

    what.gif

I'm mainly confused because of the time gap in between. What should I do?

And it sure doesn't help that it's been very cold outside lately. My fiance plans to wear a semi-dark grey suit...but for me I really don't know. PLEASE HELP ME!!! I have today only to decide...smile35.gif

    THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

    GORGEOUS WORK ELIZABETH!!!!

We can't wait for it to be our turn too.
Her event seems similar to what we're doing.

Anyone reading this who hasn't chosen where they're getting married yet -- look long and hard at EDR! And if you don't know who your photographer will be yet, there's no reason to put too much thought into it... You need Elizabeth there to photograph everything!!!

Which is exactly what we're doing...smile159.gif
It's great to know that despite of all my wedding uncertainies still, location and photographer isn't one of them. Thanks for your positive words, I still remember your wedding slideshow...AMAZING! :)
  7. BandE2008 sounds great...thanks so much for your feedback :)

By the way I wanted to ask you, have you actually been into El Cocotal?

How about Las Fuentes? What's your take on both?

50$ a person! that's kind of out of our budget too sad.gif, but we'll see.

For the food counts...I'm wondering if it would be appropriate to list the 2 food options in the invite and just have guests reply with their answers along with their replys..hmm??

Anyway, your wedding plans sound wonderful! I have a huge gut feeling that we might end up doing the same. We really should be taking advantage of this free dinner option, since we're in such a tight budget.

That's great that your enjoying the free dinner, yet your still gonna have something nice @ Tucanes afterwards :). This sounds like something I would love to do too. Are you allowed to setup your own tables at El Cocotal?

( I'm just wondering.. if El Cocotal will have any problems with my photographer Elizabeth Medina taking pics at this time. )

*That waterfall you mentioned sounds like a great thing for pics!

So I take it, your not having a cocktail hr correct?

(what r u having your guests do durig the time gap?)

Also, are you assuming dinner will take an hour, or is that the schedule they gave you?

Your "Private Reception /Chocolate Fondue at Tucanes"...can you please elaborate on this alittle. What exactly happens during this time? What are you allowed to have? Are there other fun options to add along with a chocolate fondue?

What about liquor?? How long did they tell you you can have this for?

So sorry for all the questions.. hope you don't mind.

    6 weeks...yay!!!

  8. Thanks guys... :)

Well I think what I'll have to do than is if I have 15-20 guests, I guess I'll have to have a sit down dinner at Tucanes. I wonder if this would turn out to be cheaper or more..hmmm? Ummm..I believe a sit-down dinner requires a 3 meal course correct? If so, I was wondering if I would need to do dessert or will they allow me to do lets say a salad, appetizer, and meal. Cause I'm thinking THE CAKE can serve as dessert..right?

Also, now I'm wondering how will I know what meal options to get for my guests...I'm completely at loss with this. Or do you just pick 2 or 3 options in advance and than they get to choose from ONLY those in the final menu??

  9. Thanks for your feedback Rhonda,

well yes, my rehearsel dinner was going to be held on the day before the wedding, but it turns out that many of our guests will be arriving on this day, so I don't even see the point in doing it anymore. I don't want it to go to waste, and it's def. a great way to save ouselves some mony. So I'm thinking maybe we should take advantage of it, and just try to work with it during, and after the dinner. I'm just upset cause there won't be a nice backdrop for pics during the dinner and after...I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!huh.gif?

I really need to know who's going & who isn't I think. This will help me to narrow down my options for sure. Does anyone happen to know what is traditional as far as TIMING for RSVP'S back from the INVITES goeshuh.gif so confused..

  10. Hello Future & Past EDR Brides!!!

It looks like after planning for a private reception for 30 people now for so long, our plans are slowly changing. We're now only expecting a maximum of 15 people if that sad.gif. The ECONOMY is def. the cause for blame here cause many of our guests have lost their jobs and are just not doing too well sad.gif

Well...so now I don't know what I should do as far as a reception goes. My original plan was to have our free dinner @ Las Fuentes on the day before, and have the Deluxe Buffet reception @ Tucanes. Please Help...I'm really at loss now & I don't know how to plan something that's at least semi-private where we can have some time for music & dancing. I guess we could do the free dinner...but then what??

I wonder...is there any music playing in the background @ Las Fuentes

    & El Cocotal?

  11. Hey!

Well, I'm glad you guys like it. I was sure my share could help others out there wink.gif

I know that to add the pictures onto the album all you have to do is click on VIEW MORE IMAGES under the MAIN PICTURE of the pg. which in my case is the one of me and my fiance. This will take you to the upload pg. where you can upload more pics into the album. I'm not sure how she pasted the theme pics though...I'll see if I can ask her.

  12. I just thought I'd share this with all you girls out there...

My wonderful "MOH" & "BRIDESMAIDS" have created a website with details about my upcoming BP in Feb. Traditionally, the bride is not suppose to know about what to expect, but since my event requires some traveling, it was crucial that I'd be part of the planning. Here's a link to what they're calling "the MASTERPLAN"..The website is courtesy of: Socializr - Free Online Invitations, Party Planning, and Event Sharing.

You can log on and create an account for free. You can send online invitations, party planning, and event sharing. Again, I just thought I'd share this cute idea with all the brides-2-b out there, & to all the members of a bridal party. Hope it helps :)

  13. Anyone willing to share their choices made with either "Fuentes" or "El Cocotal". We need to choose a location and food choices for my Rehearsel Dinner which we're having the day before the wedding. Also, what time does it have to be scheduled for? Because we would like to do a group activity or excursion with guests during the daytime. Should guests know that this is a free dinner or is it best to have them think your hosting?

  14. Can someone please direct me to a good and affordable website where I can design and buy shirts for my girls in bulk.

Does anyone have any fun ideas as to what to print on the shirts?

My girls are throwing me a weekend getaway BP in Virginia during the last weekend of February. We really don't have a theme, but we're going with the fun idea of "Girls just wanna have fun". We're having alittle bit of everything: tarot reader, belly dancers, hookahs, and maybe even some strippers..lol, I know quite a crazy night, i really can't wait! Instead of giving them some boring figurine souvenier, I want to give them fun shirts that they can wear the night of the BP. Ideas, suggestions anyone??

    TIA,

    linda

  15. Meghan, that's so cool that your a teacher. I'm a teacher too!

Ummm.. yeah, that's one of the reason's why I'm having my wedding during my

SPRING BREAK. Have you considered possibly having your wedding during one of your breaks from work? I remember wanting to go during June or July too, but I was too scared to take the risk. Not that you can't have a beautiful wedding during these months, cause I know many brides on here have been blessed with gorgeous weather for those months. But my own wedding coordinator suggested April, so that's what I ended up going with. It's def. something to think about. Either way, you'll be married in a beautiful destination whether your indoors or outdoors.

Good luck with this, happy planning wink.gif

  16. I love the look of a rose petal walkway for my ceremony, and of rose petals in paper-cones for guests to throw after the ceremony. I'm trying to go with the most affordable option with this, since it's such a trivial element. EDR charges I believe $100.00 per bag of real rose petals, which I think is insane. Did you go with rose petals for your ceremony? If so, how much did you pay for them, if you don't mind me asking? Also, does anyone know where I can get, or how I can make the paper cones for the petals? I would like to display them in paper cones rather than the rice cups that Valeria has mentioned to me.
