  1. Carina! If I may ask... How were you able to get the Paradisus? I thought it was only for special circumstances I really love their resort! THANKS
  2. As another relocated Dreams Tulum bride, Im wondering if some one can point me in the direction of some Paradisus reviews, with pictures please and Thank you! One other question... How far is Paradisus from Cancun? 30 min? more? less? THANK YOU!!!!
  3. dido that^ Im getting nervous! I hope everything went perfectly for them. They had so much to deal with right before departing... at least the rest of us have a heads up! we have probably gotten used to the idea that we'll be having our wedding somewhere else. But Trish and Brooke had to deal with a big shock! Im sure it went beautifully though Cant wait to see the pictures!!! :)
  4. I contacted a Dreams Tulum Bride who got relocated last week, and has now returned home. She and her party were moved to Secrets Silversands. And she posted her review on trip adviser. She didnt have TOO MANY bad things to say about the resort... the usual early stage kinks... Here's her response to an email I sent her. Hi.. besides the initial shock at the airport the wedding went exactly as i had planned for it at dreams tulum... LANDY the wedding coordinator ( who i had difficulties talking to with emails on the internet) is a pleasure in person.. She called us our first night there to soothe our concerns and schedule our blood tests for the morning.. Our second day there we had our blood tests, viewed possible flower arraingments, cake plans, and went over possible wedding locations... We had ours on the beach which turned out great, they have a cleared off sandy spot next to the water that has rocks all around it.. they set up a wedding arch with lots of bright colored flowers( which i picked out).. they set up white wooden chairs for our guests, and lined the isles with these candle/bag things.... Everything turned out exactly as i asked for... We opted to not have our champaign/cake on the beach.. we decided to have it with our dinner.. We were given two choices for dinner (there was another wedding that day, and they picked 1st.. so we got to chose second) We had ours at Ratoules(not sure of spelling)... but it was awesome.. they set up a long table in the center of the restaurant and seated no one around us so it was very private.. They decorated the table with flowers we had 3 servers so no drink or plate ever went empty.. They picked the menu for us (not sure if you can pick your own) but they servered 3 different appitizers.. dinenr was either rack of lamb, or filet migion.... with potatoes, corn, and something else(can't remember).. then we cut our cake and did toasts... It was really nice.... The only advice i can give you is to defintly bring a picture of what type of hairstyle you want for you wedding day, because the people at the spa are really nice and do a good job they just didn't speak any english at all.. I could only get across that i wanted all my hair up and that i wanted these flowers that i had brought in my hair.. other than that they didn't understand a word i said... if if would have had a picture it would have been much easier.. also my hair cost 50.00 which isn't bad.... And here's her link!!!! :) Ill see if I can post the link its on trip adviser (hope this work) Puerto Morelos: Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun - Traveler Reviews - Wedding in paradise - TripAdvisor I hope this helps some of you brides, I know it helped me a little... Im better informed, thats for sure

I guess its official! If they're moving your wedding, then they will def be moving mine as well. I was really hoping that by some miracle Dreams would be opening up soon. But if they're re locating you and your guests, Im bound for tha same fate... I replied to Sandra's e-mail a few days ago, and she has yet to reply (which is to be expected...considering all the drama) about 50% of my guests book thru expedia. Incuding FH and I! We have yet to receive a phone call either. I hope they do get in touch with us soon though... Does any one know what our options are? besides Dreams Cancun? (not an option for us) and Secrets Silversands? any other resorts at this point in time Dreams Tulum has mentioned sending you and your wedding party? Dreams Cancun is super beautiful. And they put on great weddings. But I dont want to be staying in Cancun. The Mayan Riviera is were we want to stay. All our wedding related activities are in the Mayan. And we dont want to be surrounded by all the Cancun party goers... argh! THANKS LADIES!!!!! without this forum, I would be a disaster. Even though FH says I am regardless
  7. Yes! Thank you Tammy! We appreciate this BIG TIME!!! Joann D. & Steven C. November 13 2008 Dreams Tulum
  8. good question Leanne!!!! I hope they honor it! or else, I will seriously be having a major panic attack and taking it out on all the staff! I am so worried! I really dont have the heart to tell all of our guests yet... I m going to try and stick it out a lil longer... Then Ill flip...
  9. Can any one send some paradisus wedding pics our way... Please! I am stressing big time!!!
  10. argh!!!!! I am getting super nervous now! FH assured me that this was a temporary glitch and that they would be up and running soon. But now Im starting to loose hope! Im trying my very hardest to have faith though... I dont have the heart to tell any of my guests yet either! Im going to cross my fingers and hope that everything works out in the end...
  11. YAY! Im so happy everything worked out for you! You deserve the very best on your wedding day! All the very best to you and you new hubby quick question...? How did you get re-directed to The Paradisus? I thought they were only re-directing to Dreams Cancun and Secrets? Im not very fond of either so Paradisus would be a great option!!!
  12. OMG!!!!! Stephanie! You are such an amazing person! Thank you for posting the resort review and pics! You are like our "dreams" angel! THANK YOU!!! You are truly the best! Im positive you have just calmed down more than just me with that post! I am still very stressed! But I believe everything happens for a reason. And I believe everything will work out! here's hoping! with fingers crossed!
  13. I just spoke to Monica as well and she said she will pretty much know everything by Wed... She told me to call her back then and she can inform me about everything... (this might be her way of getting me off her back though...) she did said some of the resort is open while some is not, once again not specifiying which...
  14. I am so freaking out!!!! whats going on? Im trying to get some one from Dreams Tulum on the phone, right at this moment... I'm seriously panicking!!!! Trish! I cant even begin to imagine your distress!!!

If that didnt work, we would just go on another excursion provided by Dreams Tulum, with pretty much the same idea... FH also wants to take his guys ATVing and to the Cenotes, yet another excursion we did last year. We're pretty much winging it... We'll try and find the tour operators, once we arrive... Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
  17. ^ oh no! I just noticed... Im not on that list! Im not on the "Brides to be" section. The one with all the info on it... I thought I had posted it... Maybe not... any how... Here's my info again, just in case! :) Username--- dreamstbride Names (optional, first names only)--- Joann & Steve Date & Time--- November 13 2008 (3:00pm) Number of guests---14 confirmed, 20 invited... Coordinator--- Sandra (at the beginning...) and now Landy Ceremony location--- Chapel Reception location---Massage Hut (waiting for confirmation) otherwise... It will be on the Beach Photographer--- We are taking a Photographer with us... Kevin Lanthier Videographer--- Resort videographer Review (link) Photos (link) Video (link) Special arrangements / activities (i.e. welcome dinner, special set-up, anything that's not the norm) Not sure if its out of the norm... But we did have a mixer thing happening the day before the wedding. I was hoping to get all of our guests to go on a joint excursion. I know of a really neat cruise that takes you out to either Cozumel? or Isla de Mueres? were you can swim with Manta ray.
  18. WOW!!! there will be lots of brides that week! How exciting!!! We should all get together!!! maybe for margaritas!!!

We are planning a bonfire afterparty on the beach and think we might hire the firedancers. I think the only other option is the disco? Let me know what you guys are thinking. Maybe we can come up with some good ideas. Oh I know!!! It totally helps now, knowing that we'll be sharing the resort that day. And its helps knowing that we can plan things accordingly. Kind of a stress reliever. Im pretty positive our guests and Fh and I were going to head over to the disco... Most of our guests are big on dancing and partying so I def imagine we will be there! I love you idea about the bonfire and fire dancers! that will def be a site to see. What a great idea for your reception. As for your e-mail today. Fh and I actually originally wanted to have the cocktail hour right outside the chapel, in the courtyard outside. But after hearing about the hour difference between our weddings, we moved it, to get out of your way Its not a big deal though... we really like both locations for the cocktail hour! So the ball is pretty much in your court. If you want to have the ceremony by the staircase, we can keep our cocktail hour by the chapel, or vice versa. You let me know! I hope you get a hold of Landy or Lizette I cant imagine your stress with having to go away, fingers crossed that they get back to you soon. So you can plan everything out.

You cant go wrong here!!! So many questions Ive had, have been answered here! You will love it!!! Looks like there will be a few brides the week of the 9th Future hubby and I arrive on the 9th of Nov and we're staying for 10 nights.
  21. Hey ladies! I had a quick question regarding your Trash the dress session... where abouts on the beach did you go to take the pictures?? Did you walk down the beach a ways before deciding on a spot?? or did you just plop down in front of the resort and start shooting?? FH and I were planning on getting up nice and early 6am the following morning to take the pics. So the beach should be pretty deserted but I dont know were to take the pics?? suggestions would be great! THANKS so much!!!

What size batteries do you remember the docking station needing?? many THANKS!!!
  23. Hey ladies!!! I have a couple of questions?? So I've tried emailing Landy and have gotten no reply as of yet... So I thought I'd turn to you ladies you've been such a great help in the past... Here goes... My question is in regards to the beach hut located on the far end of the beach! (the massage hut) we are confirmed for the Ultimate wedding package, we are having a sit down gold dinner, and so I was wondering if the hut could be an option for our reception or will there be an extra charge?? Has anyone gotten a response from Landy regarding this option? Is it possible to get a sound system wired to the hut, so that we may play music during our dinner? and what about lighting? is there lighting in the hut? or will that need to wired to the hut as well Thank you so much!
