  1. I just got married on August 25th in Los Cabos @ Dreams at the weather said Thunderstorms every day that we were there. We did not have any rain. Well, we had a few sprinkles for 5 minutes. Nothing major. It was absolutely beautiful, perfect weather. I will post pics soon
  2. I used FedEx. It is a very detailed process. I suggest calling Fedex directly and having one of the reps walk you through the process. I setup an account online and it was really easy to prepare the shipment with one of the reps on the line. I lableled each box and made sure that I prepared all the paperwork to the T.
  3. Sorry for the delay....I have been so busy. We leave Wednesday Morning. All 7 of my boxes arrived at Dreams and are in Mariana's office. Yes ladies, 7 boxes. My packages cleared customs, taxes were paid, and delivery was made. It cost around $290. But it was well worth it. Everything arrived in one piece, glass vases and all. I saved tons of money by sending my own things and I am able to add my own personal touches from home to our wedding.
  4. I sent my shipment out on Tuesday-August 7th. I got an email today-August 10th- from Mariana the WC at Dreams Los Cabos and FedEx called her to let her know the pkgs would be arriving tonight and that there is a tax fee that needs to be paid. The resort is paying for the tax fees and I will be billed in my wedding expenses. It took 3 days! I have heard the horror stories but I did my research and contacted a shipping broker that ships for IBM and Microsoft and he gave me the details on how to package, what to say and what courier to use. I also walked through all the steps with the FedEx international rep while I was setting up my shipment online.
  5. Thank you for the idea! I will definitely get the bags and tea lights.
  6. Our recepetion is at the cascade. Thank you for the info.
  7. I am trying to decide whether it is worth having tiki lights and votive candles. From all the beautiful pictures I have seen, the lighting seems perfect for an outdoor reception. Any suggestions Tiki lights or no tiki lights...votives or no votives on the tables. I am all about the less is more concept. But I am literally a few weeks away and I am starting to over think EVERYTHING!
  8. All this talk about Cabo is getting me excited! I will let you know if I have any special request for my day...
  9. I actually planned a lot on on my own. But I did have assistance with the travel and I communicated a lot with the wedding coordinator at Dreams for referrals in regards to a florist, guitarist, photographerm and DJ. I created a lot of the items for the wedding and I shipped them to Los Cabos. I did tons of research.
  10. Thank you for the warm welcome. I will definitely be turning to everyone with questions.
  11. I will keep you updated on my shipment. I just checked it and it is in transit to Los Cabos, cleared customs from Guadalajara. I am keeping my fingers crossed!
  12. I actually just shipped some boxes via fedex international today. It is pretty detailed all the forms you have to fill out. I spoke directly with a shipping broker in Cabo that deals with big shipments from the US to Mexico and he recommended Fedex or DHL for smaller event shipping. Everything should arrive within 4 days, go through customs review, and delivered to Mariana @ Dreams. I gave myself about 2 weeks for the stuff to get there.
  13. I am a Dreams Los Cabos bride getting married August 25th, 2007. I am a newbie myself, let me know if I can be of any help.
  14. I had 2 years to plan, did tons of research and I found that the all-inclusive resorts offer great packages. Your guest will love the fact that everything is included. If you work with a good travel agent that specializes in destination weddings that is an added bonus. I am getting married in 15 days at Dreams Los Cabos. Love the onsite coordinator and my travel agent she is part of All About Honeymoons. Let me know if I can be of any help.

  16. We are using her. I will post some pics when we get back on August 30th, 2007. Her pics on the website are great and the Dreams WC recommended her. She is great with communication and top of things. Very professional, I have spoken with her over the phone and dealt with her via email.
  17. Yes I am very excited and VERY nervous. I am soooo glad I found this site. I have been dying to hear from others who have planned a destination wedding. I feel like I am forgetting to do so much.
  18. My name is Jamie and my fiance and I will be headed to Dreams Resort Los Cabos in exactly 15 days! We are getting married on 8/25/07.
