  2. Thanks ladies The dress was a total impulse buy. It was the second dress I tried on. Sometimes I wish I would have shopped around. But then I figure F it, it will be fabulous. And I'm happy with how much I spent

  6. It might include soft drinks and water. I know it doesn't cover alcohol because they sent us a price list for open bar. Which of course is super expensive.

Also, you should check your wedding contracts (if you have one). I am pretty sure that mine has a gratuity included for bartenders and waiters. If I am totally making that up and it isnt included, I will tip the bartenders and waiters. Smelikai - some of my vendors told me that the "service charge" is tax, so maybe check with your WC... and let me know! No actually we're being charged 15% service, and a 10% VAT (which is the tax)
  8. I'm so excited to have our rehearsal dinner at Mi Casa. But I just don't understand their pricing. We wanted to do their cheapest group menu and its $45 pp. That menu gives you an option of a soup/salad, 2 main courses(for guests to choose 1), and a dessert. When I added up the most expensive items from the menu it came out to close to $30. I'm just confused as to why a group menu would be more expensive than a la cart. Is that how it works? I wonder if they expect people to negotiate the price down or something. I'm so confused.
  9. We always tip most of the staff at resorts. For our actual wedding we're paying a 15% service charge, so we don't plan on tipping extra. Hmmm...now that I think about it, I wonder if the staff even gets that $$$? We might have to rethink that. I'm sure our guests will tip the bartender, since they don't have to pay for any drinks. We'll probably send our WC a present or some flowers to her office. We don't plan on tipping the D.J or the photographer. Our officiant is a friend, so we're paying for his room and giving him a gift. I'm sure we will tip Claudia who is the events organizer at FA. She has been awesome
  10. Has anyone done this, or is planning on doing it? I've seen a few of them preserved and they look so pretty. I'm wondering how hard it would be, I mean having a DW and all.
  11. I started getting eyelashes back in March and I love them. I get them filled every two weeks, but some people wait 3 or sometimes 4. My lady fills in probably about 20 per eye each sesion. If anyone lives in the San Diego area I can give you my eyelash ladies #, she is awesome! She told me a month b4 I get married she would start to double fill them. I'll have to lay there longer but it will be worth it. I normally have short blonde lashes, so they really boost my confidence. Strange how that works hehe If you gals have any questions let me know. Oh and BTW they really show up in pics it's amazing.
  12. I'm sorry I wasn't specific. I'm looking a cake flavor and a filling flavor to go with buttercream frosting
  13. Hmmm I've never had a poopyseed cake, it sounds yummy though. Would poppyseed be the filling or the cake?
  14. We're looking for something light without fruit. My FI doesn't like fruit flavored cakes We're already having a lot of chocolate desserts at our buffet. So we're trying to find a yummy light flavor for our cake. And the frosting will be buttercream. Any suggestions?
  15. I'm looking for some pretty cubic zirconia jewelry. I don't really know of any stores to go to, so I've been searching online. Does anyone know of any reputable websites with nice fake bling Stores would also be helpful. Thanks.
  16. You're so awesome Jill!~ Just when I was feeling a little down you picked me right back up with the pics I wish we could stay in the suite all week. But we'll have to make the most out of our one night. I can't wait to go down there at the end of the month. Thanks Jill
  17. You're probably right Michelle. It's really frustrating though.
  18. I really want to have sparklers at our wedding. Both our ceremony and reception will be outside within the same vicinity. So I thought it would be lovely to make an entrance to our reception through the sparklers. They're really cheap online. About a buck a piece for the 36" ones that burn for 4 minutes. The only problem is you can't export them. My WC says she can get me sparklers for $3-$5 each. Has anyone had sparklers at their wedding, or plan to? I'm just looking for a cheaper way to get them. Thanks Wedding Sparklers - Cheap Sparklers - $0.25* http://www.skylighter.com/Wedding_Id..._The_Bride.asp
  19. They actually want $15 per cake.
  20. Has anyone ever had to pay for a cake tasting? I'm staring to get really annoyed. My WC said that the cake vendor wants me to pick three cakes, fillings, and frosting flavors to sample. And then I have to pay $15 for a minimum of three cakes to sample. I really think this is BULLSHIT! How am I supposed to know what flavors to sample. Isn't that what the tasting is for? I always thought they would have a bunch of different cakes, fillings, and icings to choose from. That we could mix and match and taste everything. Or have I been watching too many wedding shows? I'm really getting sick of people trying to nickel and dime us. For a 50 person cake they already want $400. Why should we give them a penny more? I'm sorry that I'm venting, but nothing seems to be going right lately. I'm even considering firing our WC. That's a whole other thread.
  21. I don't know who we're using. My WC uses vendors that don't have websites. It's really frustrating because I don't know what I'm getting. I am going to do a cake tasting with her at the end of the month. Can you please ask the cake diva for me?
  22. I'm thinking maybe the cake vendor said that because it's humid down there? Can you make butterceam look really smooth? Because I do love the taste of it. I just want that really smooth look.
  23. I've had my heart set on a cake with covered with fondant. I love how it's perfectly smooth and elegant. And I've read on a couple of websites that fondant holds up better than buttercream during the heat. We're getting married mid May so it should be pretty hot. I asked my WC to ask their cake vendor if I could get a fondant. The cake vendor says they only offer fondant from Dec-Feb, because fondant doesn't hold up in the heat. And that buttercream would be my best option. I'm having a hard time believing this. Has anyone had a fondant cake? I'm not totally opposed to a buttercream cake, I'm just having a hard time understanding this.
