Hola Matt... Great advice... it took Jeff and i forever to find a location for our wedding, the outside vendor issue being one of the reasons... i originally wanted to have my wedding at one of the big AI's, but when i contacted the WC's of the resorts i liked, one said they didn't allow outside vendors... one said i had to pay for a night's stay for each vendor... and one WC said there was a fee of $400 for an outside photographer, and when i mentioned i would also have an outside videographer, she said it would be another $400 for the videographer... and i would still need to buy day passes for them and their assistants... Thats when i gave up, and decided on the Al Cielo hotel... no issue with bringing outside photographer/videographer there... If these WC's want extra fees for outside vendors, make sure you have them put it in writing... its definitely a question you should ask before you start handing over deposits... you're paying all this money for YOUR day, you should have the wedding YOU want, not the wedding that some of these resorts want to shove you into... Help!
itsme7396 replied to Chicago80's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
we stayed at the Palladium Kantenah... but had our wedding at the Al Cielo Hotel... how about having your wedding in Playa Del Carmen and having the dinner in one of the restaurants there... like Yaxche Maya Cuisine Restaurant, or Ajua Maya -

itsme7396 replied to itsme7396's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Wedding Vendors
Mexicobride, Paul was worth it... you'll forget about the extra fee when you see your video... as for the songs paul used: (1)Lost without you - Robin Thicke (2)Quando, Quando, Quando - Michael Buble ft. Nelly Furtado (3)Overjoyed - Stevie Wonder (4)Better Together - Jack Johnson Julie -
If you’re on the fence about hiring a videographer… I highly suggest that you do… and I highly suggest you check out Paul Schrank of Playa Weddings - Videography in Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya... Yesterday, we received our video from Paul, and I can’t tell you how pleased and amazed we were… it was above and beyond what we expected… it blew our minds away… we sat there watching it, laughing and crying, just like we did on our wedding day… I can’t thank Paul enough for making such a beautiful video… the editing, the music, everything about it was perfect… he did a phenomenal job…. A true artist... And I can’t recommend him enough… Playa Weddings - Videography in Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya Here are links of our wedding on Paul's website: Pre-Ceremony Ceremony Edit Photo Session First Dance Guests Photo montage

i brought my dress onto the plane... and the flight attendant had no problem hanging it up for me... they even offered me and the hubby free booze when they were serving drinks... hahahaaaa... at the resort, i used a steamer on the dress, though i really didnt need it... and i was ready to go... -
Dried Starfish
itsme7396 replied to dallas_texas09's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
there's no problem with bringing them... we did without incident... Our WC actually suggested that we buy our seashells/starfish here at home, before we go down, because for some reason, they cost a bit more down there... -
sol, as you said: "GET WHAT YOU WANT"... this was the best advise i received when i was down there... you definitely have to get what you want... you've paid a large sum of money to these resorts / vendors... so if its not the way you wanted, or expected, let them know... make sure you get what you pay for... Julie...
