  2. Welcome to the forum!
  3. I am using publisher and used the text boxes, but the font is very swirly and curly that the 3 lines might be confusing to the post office. Please see the attachement- this is what each looks like on the label- opinions please! Publication2.pdf Publication3.pdf
  4. I am racking my brain in trying to decide if I should just include my return address on the RSVP envelope and eliminate my name. You see- I have fallen in love with a font called Scriptina and when you have more than 2 lines on the envelope, it shifts everything... and then the address doesn't fit properly...... is it bad etiquitte to just have your address on the envelope?
  5. Welcome to the forum You will find a lot of good insight and ideas here.
  6. I know that it might be a little premature to be thinking about what am I going to use as my thank you card, but I am in the process of designing my DIY invitations and the thought occurred to me that I will have to come up with something for the thank you's. Can everyone share their ideas or point me to the thread that this was discussed before? I was thinking about using an online photo compnay and just making greeting cards with a fave wedding pic?
  7. The photographer I am leaning towards I found off the WPJA website. He is highly praised in the association, is very responsive to my emails and questions, and most importantly, I love is work. But now as I enter into the contract phase, I am nervous about if I retain him what assurances do I have that he will come through for me? I heed Leigh's advice that this is a business relationship and that he should not want to mess that situation up which could result in bad reviews or worse. And he has not done anything to leave the impression he would not be the upmost professional, but because he is located across the country (Washington state), so not being able to visit is studio, meet face to face and get a more personal connection leaves me fearful of what assurances he could truly provide me. I am having a tinge of Bridezilla huh?
  8. I have finally made my choice of photographer I'd like to hire for our wedding. Does anyone have advise as to how to proceed. I obviously know that we will sign a contract, but I am a little apprehensive contracting with someone across the US. I've had pessimistic images of the photographer not showing up or not sending me my photos. Can you give me any insight into what you did to ensure they would show up and how you structured the deal with payment and proof of travel? Thanks in advance!
  9. Welcome Gloria. I am a RM bride also at the Aventura Spa Palace. (Dec 1 2007) Let me know if you have any questions! Happy Planning!!

  13. I spoke with my travel consultant who advised that my RSVP deadline for my invitations should be around the date in my "group contract" for the resort when the final payment is due (i.e. approximately 45 days prior to the wedding date) So in my case with a Dec 1st wedding, my RSVP date should be around Oct 18th and that means my invitations have to go out in August....4 months prior to that? The travel consulant seemed to place a lot of reliance on the invitations, but aren't MOST of the guest going to have booked by then?? I am a little confused because now I have to shift my timeline? Any advise or suggestions please!

  16. Beautiful photos!! Looking at them gives me butterflies for my own wedding!
  17. I have a conundrum..... My FI is a groomsman in his long time friend's wedding in May. We are getting married in December. He will of course have the usual expenses associated with being in the wedding party, but the couple has expressed that they will probably be attending our destination wedding. So, do I take there intended plans to attend our wedding into question when giving our wedding gift to them? As most of you can relate, we are trying to save for our wedding and the "expected" gift for this wedding could be costly in addition with the groomsman expenses. I was thinking of buying something off her registery? Is that too cheap? I am really at a loss as to what to do. Any advice greatly appreciated.
  18. Welcome......beautiful pictures....it looks like you had such a wonderful day. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Welcome. I am too a Rivieria Maya bride- Dec 2007- at Aventura Spa Palace and Resorts. If you have any questions about the resort (if it's in the running for your destination) don't hesitate to ask.
  20. Another option for suit and/or linen clothing is the clothing line Tommy Bahama. It's an "island line" from Tommy Hilfiger that has an tropical feel with tropical colors, lightweight material and designs/ See: Tommy Bahama That is probablly what my FI is going to wear.
