She sent me this attachment with pricing (which is not exactly crystal clear to me but I thought I'd send if anyone else is interested). It won't let me attach for some reason even though i dont think its too big? frown: Anyway PM if you're interested. Or visit the website: ImagoAP - Mariposas
Amy! What a great idea! I'm definitely interested. I sent them an email requesting info but if you get a chance can you send me a pm or email with the pricing. Thanks!

Yup, it's $600 regardless of the package you choose. I know it sounds outrageous, especially for something they already have in house but what can you do?
  3. I'm registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond and love it. I was sooo surprised at their fine china collection. It's really nice! And they have these 20% discount coupons you can use for even Waterford, Lenox and Kate Spade stuff.

I've already returned some stuff without receipts and it hasn't been a problem. Plus, most of my guests bought our stuff online so they didn't even have to go to the store.

We are hiring the violinist for our ceremony. Is that when you are using them? Would you mind sharing your play list with me for the violinist, I've been trying to come up with one but I suck with music...

Yes, I had planned on just using a CD player buy my FH surprised me and said he wants to hire a violinist for our ceremony. We are still compiling our list but I can share what we do have so far....

Songs while our guests are being seated:
"Chapel of Love" ( the 50's song)
"Air on the G String" - Bach
    "Ode to Joy" - Beethoven

    Other songs:

    "Ave Maria" - Schubert
"Canon in D" - Pachebel (while my bridesmaids and flowergirls walk down the aisle)
    "Bridal Chorus" - Wagner (MAYBE?!)
"The Wedding March" - Mendelssohn ( at the end of ceremony, as we walk out)

Still trying to come up with others....does anyone have suggestions?!

I'm going to try and add my pic soon.
Cinco de Mayo isn't really celebrated in Mexico. It's more of an American holiday ( I know, wierd ) that was created by beer manufacturers to "sell a party". The mexicans won a battle on Cinco de Mayo but didn't gain independence until Sept. 16. That's when they are given a holiday and really celebrate! But who knows, maybe the resort will put on a show for you to cater to the American tourists who expect something.

The resort has a CD with traditional music you can play during your ceremony. They will set up a CD player for you. But, you can also create your own CD and take it down with you. We are hiring a violinist and are compiling a list of music for her to play during the ceremony. One that will definitely be on the list is "Ave Maria". I love that song!

OOOOHHHH, and I was able to put up my avatar. It's of the dress I finally chose to wear!!

Thank you soo much! I really am excited about the Amsale and hopefully I can get rid of the pronovias dress before I change my mind again.

EDNA!!! I got your pm and tried to reply but was told your mailbox is too full. I have a cousin in from Monterrey, Mexico who could potentially take you the dress so you won't have to pay a shipping charge. He leaves on Monday so let me know if you're still interested!

Brooke, do you think you could leave it with Landy?! I'm looking for one of my own! That would be really great and I could use it as something borrowed. Maybe after that, I can give it to someone else?! That's very kind of you. Let me know if you're still interested since I know some brides want to keep it as a keepsake.
  9. Hi Ladies! Well, I've finally made my decision. After long, restless nights of tossing and turning I have decided on what dress to wear. Some of you may remember my dilemma and helped me pick THE DRESS.

    http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t27991

As a result, I am selling the first dress I bought. It's a Pronovias Diamante Style. It's from their spring 2008 collection and made from Dupioni silk. The best thing about the dress is how flattering it makes your body. It really slims you down. I have NEVER WORN IT, and therefore it's brand new. I actually just picked it up from the bridal salon last week. It's a size 12 but can be resized to fit pretty much anyone ( I am a street size 6). There are several brides on this forum who also have this dress and can vouch it retails for $1475.00. With taxes I paid a total of $1597.00. I am willing to sell for $1200 plus shipping. Please let me know if you are interested. It really is a gorgeous gown!

My ceremony start time will be at 4:30. Sandra (former WC) told me that was ideal to give us enough time to take pictures and start dinner around sunset. My timeline is ceremony 4:30pm, cocktail hour 5:00-6:00pm, Reception and Dancing 6-10:30pm and then a bonfire from 10:30 on.

Now I have two new questions, it the DJ worth the price?
I am totally worried about the hotel photographer not getting the pictures that I want, does anyone have suggestions on a reasonable outside photographer?

I am very excited though, I ordered my flower girl basket and ring pillow, and also our favors. More things to check off the list!smile36.gif

Several of the brides on here have used the resort photographer. Actually, the latest review we got included pics from the resort photog. From what I have seen and read, the photogs are good but it helps to tell them exactly what poses, pictures you want. As for the DJ...several brides have said it is NOT worth it. They basically just play music, don't MC anything. And if all you need is something/someone to play music, it may be best to just rent an ipod machine. Several of us on here have hired the services of DJ Mannia. He has excellent reviews and is reasonably priced. You can do a search on this forum to get more info on DJ Mannia or email them at: [email protected]

    Good luck!

  13. I looove to cook and my FH loooooves to entertain so we often have people over at our house. I definitely registered for china and told my mom and sis to spread the word that china is what I really want. If I had a set I would inherit one day, then I wouldn't bother with it, but neither my mom or fmil have one so I wanted one of my own. I do see ourselves using it more than once a year and I would love to one day hand it down to my daughters.

  14. I think you should definitely call. I'm getting married several weeks after you and I have yet to recieve ONE email from Landy. She hasn't responded to ANY OF MY EMAILS. So I get how frustrating you are. BUT, and it's a big but, everyone who has gotten married there before says the WC always come through in the end. That is what I'm banking on.

    Definitely call. Good luck!
