I love your smile! Congratulations!
You are just beaming!!! And of course, beautiful dress.
Where did you get the flower in your hair?

What amazing pictures! Wow! Wow! Wow!
Congratulations! These pictures should make up for no video. They are that good and capture the mood of the day!
-
That's awesome! Gunna run over there tomorrow. I just won't tell my FH cuz he's sooo worried about how we are going to take EVERYTHING I've bought down!
-
I'm just now seeing this! wow! I LOVE your dress! Absolutely LOVE it! Who's the designer?!
And yes, definitely get a brooch for the sash. It will make the dress pop even more!
-
Congratulations!!!!
I'm getting butterflies in my stomach just reading about your legal day and how secretive it was. I can't think of anything more romantic!!!
Plus, just think, you're officially a married woman now, and NO ONE knows!! (well, except for us BDW ladies!)
-
Brooke you're a married woman now! Wow! My FH were just talking about when we should head down to the courthouse to make it "official". I want to do it a couple of weeks before the wedding.
Congrats on becoming a MRS! Let's hope the next time will be in Tulum and not elsewhere!
-
But you know... at least they are being pro-active. Remember, this is the Landy who takes WEEKS to get back to you. I find comfort in knowing they will work to keep your entire group together. I know it sucks. But at least they are working on having a back-up plan NOW as opposed to scrambling on the day of the wedding.
I'm just curious to find out what the "on time" in her email means. What is their timeline?! They aren't specific about it!
-
Thanks Amy! I was wondering if there was any "official" word from the resort today.
Are you looking into getting married somewhere else? I know we have two months to go but I don't want to wait until the last moment. I'm starting to research Azul Sensatori. I went there for my site visit and loved it. And I gave them a call, and they have my date available! I just don't know yet what the price difference will be for my guests and not sure how big a hassle it would be for them to cancel DT and re-book so I'm holding off. I want to believe it will all get squared away but I have my doubts!

Good luck, Anna!
You're doing the right thing. No use in fussing with it now. One day you will laugh about all of this.
For now, relax and try to enjoy your wedding. It's the only one you're having.

FABULOUS!!! You did such an incredible job ! Really!
Everything will work out for you. I promise.
The wedding location doesn't have to make the wedding. It's the little details that make the wedding. And from what I've seen in your post, your details will set the tone for an incredible wedding no matter where it is!
WE ARE ALL THINKING OF YOU! You will have an amazing wedding no matter what. Chin up!

Is anyone getting married here during the month of November? I'm a Dreams Tulum bride but just found out our resort is CLOSED. So now I'm scrambling to get everything going at another location. I just spoke with Nancy and she tells me the resort opens Nov. 1. Wondering if anyone plans on getting married there soon?

Wishing you peace of mind. My thoughts and prayers are with you. -
I just read a Mexican newspaper that said a decision was made by federal authorities to permanently close down Dreams Tulum on Oct. 1 (tomorrow).
As we all know, the resort was temporarily shut down on Friday but to this day some guests remain.
Well, the article says everyone must leave and the hotel will be shut down in its entirety tomorrow.
It also said they will form some sort of committee/commission to try to resolve this because there are hundreds of employees and limbo.
-
Gracias, Sol. My wedding is in two months but I am sooo scared it won't get resolved by then. I'm Mexican. And unfortunately know how the government works. I wish I was more hopeful but all of my family tells me to start looking somewhere else.
-
Trish, sooo sorry. Wish I had better words for you. What is happening is unbelievable. I read other, smaller resorts were closed back in July and when I spoke with Sandra about it she just laughed and said Dreams Tulum would "absolutely" not be affected.
Fast forward to today. I talked to three different people at the resort today at everyone seemed clueless and have contradictory information. I think the employees don't know themselves.
One of the employees told me the resort was partially closed and still serving their guests. BUT, they also told me they would not accept any "new" guests until all this is resolved. Basically, they will continue to operate with the guests who are there now. No one is allowed to check-in until they are fully re-opened.
I emailed and called my TA tonight. Waiting on a response from her but I will start looking at other sister resorts. If I have to move, I'll move but I want to make sure the resort has my wedding date available. I'm not about to make my guests re-schedule their trips for another date.
Let's keep each other informed. As soon as I hear something, you ladies will be the first to know.

IMPORTANT, VERY IMPORTANT!
I just got off the phone with the resort to confirm their closure. Dreams Tulum is in fact closed. Yes, closed. I read it in a Spanish newspaper and wanted to believe it was yellow journalism.
Unfortunately, Dreams Tulum along with Eurostar Tulum resorts ARE CLOSED.
I don't mean to sound so harsh but to be honest I am freaking out.
Apparently, the mexican government claims these hotels didn't have the "appropriate licensing" to build on the land. The woman I spoke with on the phone told me they do have all the permits necessary. Sooo, I was told they would fight it in court this week and we should know more by early next week.
I'm trying to stay calm. My FH just said "what the f#@$!!" and has decided to leave and go swimming with my nephews. Great, leave it to me!
So, I will post more when I know more.
If you have ANY info, of course we would all love to hear it!!

How fun! It looks like you had an amazing time!
btw...just noticed you and i share the same wedding date! We're getting close!

I was working on my dinner menus today and realized there was a change in the new policy. Wondering if anyone has noticed this?!
When I booked our date, Sandra sent me the "old" wedding guide. The cost for the golden menu was $55 and included a FIVE course dinner. The new menu only includes FOUR. So I called and emailed Landy and of course have gotten no response.
Does anyone know anything about this? The missing course in the new menu is the soup.

btw...my wedding is two months away, I have over 60 people booked, and I have yet to hear from Landy or Lizet. I know everyone on here says it all works out in the end, but I just don't get why the disorganization and lack of communication up until we arrive!! -
Just want to say I'm soooo jealous you guys are doing this! Wish I lived in NYC! It should be soo much fun to meet everyone!

Everything looks so great Yari! Congrats! you must be sooo excited!

Loved your pics! Glad everything turned out okay despite the glitches!

I love your stuff! I know your guests will be very impressed!
I think I'm going to "borrow" your menus. I love the starfish on them. How did you do it?

What a situation!! Has any DT brides, besides the ladies this coming week, moved their weddings yet? We are scheduled to arrive there on Nov 10, but we have taken time off to go away and have some time to ourselves starting Oct 30. So Im trying to decide if we should start looking around to move resorts, but I dont know where to start? I contacted my travel agent but she refuses to tell me what my options are because she is convinced everything will be fine. Im hoping it will be fine too in a couple of weeks, but I like to be prepared.
My biggest concern is that I wasnt planning on having an outdoor ceremony. We were so pumped about the chapel at Dreams Tulum, which is what sold us on the resort. Im not interested in having a beach wedding (although they are beautiful, just not my thing). Are there any other resorts that have a chapel? Or are there any churches that offer non-demoninational ceremonies in the area?
So does anyone know the process of changing resorts at this time? I went with Air Canada Vacations and they wont talk to me because I booked through an agent, who isnt concerned. Suggestions??
Lastly, I admit that Im really amazed by some of the other brides who are having to deal with this so close to their weddings. I told my fiance about them and we both agreed that we would never be able to have such a great attitude towards the situation! Its showed me a lot that its really not so much about the small stuff...
So I totally get why you want to start looking. And if it makes you feel any better, my TA also told me she wouldn't research other places because she's confident DT will be back and running. I wanted to fire her right then and there. She wasn't go to do the leg work, she said!!! Sooo, I spent yesterday researching like a mad woman. Why did I hire her again!?!?
let's hope today brings good news!
