  1. Hi, sorry haven't been here in a bit. But noticed you were asking about the veil. It is very windy. My veil flew off but my dad caught it and put it back on. It was a cute picture. However, it ended up kinda pulling my hair. I liked having pics with the veil but could have done without. For a big party (we had 65) we do recommend the garden area with the rented dance floor. It was beautiful and even though outside, very private. The garden is surround by sidewalk, so if people do pass by they walk outside the area. Its a great view and worth the extra money for dance floor. It's lit by tiki torches, very nice. The candles on the tables all didn't hold up. Our cocktail reception was on the terrace and I would recommend that as well. Its a smaller area and semi private. We didn't spend much time there because we were doing our pictures but heard the food was great. Quote: Originally Posted by cmmcentire Hi Brenda, Thanks for the pictures...they are beautiful! From your pictures it looked like there might have been a breeze. I also notice you had your reception outside and still had a dance floor. I was told that with a large group like yours was and mine will be a well that the only place the have the reception AND a dance floor is in the convention center? I'm assuming this isn't true then? Any info helps, thanks Brenda! Crystal
  2. We had Citalli for our May wedding. She was great!! Her sister was her assistant and was great also. They were very creative, accomodating and just fun to have around. We have gotten so many compliments on our photos, take a look at our wedding website Brenda and Jose's Wedding Website The first two galleries are her photos. The last gallery are photos from family and friends. We just love them!!
  3. Hey all- Sorry its been a while since I've been here. So much has happened since we got back from Cancun. Got a new job, we moved, it's been a crazy time. But our wedding was beautiful and unforgetable at the Dreams Cancun Resort. Unfortunately the original wedding planner Claudia was sick when we arrived in Cancun so we were switched to a new planner last minute which interfered with some of our original plans. Despite a miss on some of the details, we couldn't have asked for a better more perfect wedding. We had 65 people, ceremony took place at 5pm at the gazebo. Following was the cocktail reception at the terrace. We didn't enjoy that portion because we were off taking photos, but our guests enjoyed the appetizers and drinks. After photos with family and the group (about hour later) we headed over to the garden area. Set up was beautiful We ordered our own flowers, centerpieces, from and outside vendor. They were gorgeous. Calililies centerpieces, simple and elegant. The dance floor was layed out in the middle surrounded by tables on each side. And a small table at the head of the dance floor for us. We decided on a buffet style, because the night before we had sit down rehearsal dinner. The buffet was set up beautiful, and heard great things about the food. The negative if anything was the DJ. He was clueless about the music (we requested some spanish!!! and he didnt have it) not good on the mic at all. Luckily my husband is a DJ himself, so he went down prepared with music he mixed. But he had to walk the DJ through to play our songs and certain times, for like walking in, the dances, etc.) We partied outside until about 11:30. Then we took it in to the front lobby bar until 3am. It was so awesome!! Well if anyone is interested in seeing pics we have our website with three galleries. The first two galleries are from our professional photograher (we loved her!!!! Citalli from Claudia photos) And the third gallery are those taken from friends and family. Brenda and Jose's Wedding Website I'm not here often but if you have any questions, please email me. would love to help out.
  4. I lucked out and found banana boat full size and DollaR Tree. We had to go to several to get enought but they were name brand and the larger size!!
  5. Okay so how does it work for the vendors? Photographer, DJ, Videographer, etc.? DO we include them in seating? Dinner? What have y'all done or will be doing?
  6. I love your idea! But I am not planning to do individual petal tossing bags for 65 people. Any other ideas? Maybe baskets to pass along or something?

No I`m sorry. 2. If not, can you put me in contact with the florist that you use? I have some very specific ideas of what I would like for the bouquets that I will be needing, and have not seen exactly what I'm looking for in the bouquet options you have sent me. Can I e-mail pictures of what I like for price quotes? Yes please send me the options you want.. 3. Are you able to customize cakes? What flavors are available? vanilla, chocolate, strawberries, 3 leches (only 2 layer cake) 4. Will we be able to discuss/customize our ceremony with the minister beforehand? yes. 5. Also, we would like to set our ceremony time for 4:00. Will that be a good time? yes it is a good time in October Thank you in advance for your help, Susan ...So I guess I didn't ask specifically if we could meet with the minister beforehand, but I'm not sure how else we'd "discuss/customize our ceremony" It may be the time of year, that the minister is less available. I hear May is a busy month. I am still gonna try and see if I can touch base with him or her beforehand. We'll see
  8. I was sent those same vows for the non-legal ceremony. However, I don't see that it includes the sand ceremony part. Where would that go? And i just asked if other traditions can be incoporated. Do I have to write it all out for the minister? I was told that there would be no time to meet with minister. but there will be a dress rehearsal. I'm getting married in three weeks!! And I still don't have some answers to some questions!! I just hope it all pans out
  9. Okay so what if you get live music for the cermony, like mariachis or trios? Do you still request the music? or they play what they usually play?

  11. For those of you who have been to cancun or will be having there wedding there, are you planning any other group outing besides the welcome dinner? Has anyone visited Isla Mujeres? What can one expect there? Is it worth it sending guests there?
  12. Anyone visited Isla Mujeres? What's there? How far away? Is it worth it?

From what I have been told by the WC, weddings over 20 are one a day. Anything smaller, there's a chance they will book an additional wedding. But that is something you can talk to her about. As for language, I believe both Spanish and English are available.

We are renting a sound system from them for Ipod and microphone for speeches. Our goal is to not have to do much for the rehearsal dinner, so I would suggest to check with what the resort can provide you as Christine mentioned. Good ideas!! Thanks for the tips!

She has got to be overworked with all the weddings she does a year. Definitely agree. She needs an assistand. She said she didnt have one when I was there and I know she has weddings like everyday!! Yes from what she has told me, things can be traded for other things. Have something in mind when you ask.
