  1. hey mexicobride, Unfortunately I cannot help you out with your dilemma as I haven't even thought that far ahead yet. I can't say I am surprised though as I have heard that you do not need need birth certificates or anything else translated from a couple other brides. I am also nervous and confused on all of this document stuff. I can just imagine showing up with nothing and not being able to get married legally..haha - that'd be just my luck! Crossing my fingers for you. It'll all work out! Let us know how it all works out.
  2. Hey Riubride, I am also getting married at the RIU in October. I have my date confirmed along with A time.....not the time I want. As long as you have a confirmation number you should be good to go. Did it not have the date posted on the confirmation somewhere? What date did you want?
  3. Lindsey, I would absolutely love it if you would send me some pictures when your future 'in-laws' get back. I understand your frustrations because even before we booked I was asking my TA if we could have a reception on the beach, a welcome dinner, and how everything worked and she was like 'whoa, whoa, slow down'. I'm sure I will be so frustrated at that point because I like details and planning. We can try and work through it together and I'll let you know when/if I ever hear back from the WC. I'm sure if we hound them enough together we'll get some answers!
  4. Hey Lindsey, You may be further ahead than me in the planning process, but I have my TA arrange all of our guests travel/booking as well as arrange the date and time and confirmations with the wc. After that, the details of where, what kinda reception etc. is all up to us (at which point I'll be in the same dilemma of poor communication as you). We are getting married at the RIU Palace in Cabo San Lucas - same as you right? Do you have your date and time yet? Have you thought any about the reception set-up?
  5. Hi Lindsey16, You are not alone as I have heard many people having difficulties getting ahold of the wc at the Palace in Cabo (and all over likely). I know that there was a change of wedding coordinators a little while ago and the new lady was much, much better. I am pretty much leaving everything up to my travel agent until we get to the planning portion of it. If you have a TA, maybe get them to contact the resort wc as I believe they are usually more receptive to TA's. Just a suggestion. Hopefully soon they will make some more adjustments and the communication will be much better. Either way, we are going to have awesome weddings!
  6. Hi mexicobride, I do understand that the 4:00 timeslot is usually the most popular but my concern was due to the early sunset in November. I found two different websites that said the sunset ranged from 5:07 to 5:40. Assuming that if our ceremony starts a half hour late (ie. Mexico time), we may not finish til close to 5:00 which wouldn't give us much time for photos with guests and just ourselves before sunset. I'm still unsure of the ceremony time and what we should do but for now we're still booked for 4:00!
  7. Hi Girls, I am also getting married at the RIU but the Palace in Cabo San Lucas. I haven't been too active on this site since my wedding is still 11 months away but it would be great for each of us to guide eachother along and offer advice, confusions (as I'm sure there will be lots), etc. So far I have my date booked for a legal ceremony, after some miscommunication, but am still working on changing our time from 4:00 to 3:00. This could be a challenge but I am thrilled to see so many other brides that have booked at the RIU!
  8. Thanks so much for the menu Stephanie. Looks pretty yummy to me. I'm glad to see it isn't too 'different' - I know that sounds odd but my family is pretty much just old-fashioned chicken and potato kinda people so I was nervous about the reception food choices. Are you doing the beach reception? I think it would be beautiful and so much fun!
  9. Thanks so much for the points. I guess I better get active on this site now! I'm more of a lurker since my wedding is still over a year away....but I've sure got tonnes of wonderful ideas from you girls. thanks again!
  10. Thanks for posting this Stephanie....hopefully, eventually I will have enough points to open it! haha.
