  1. This is mine from David's Bridal. The pick-ups match my bridal gown, and best of all we got them for less than $150.
  2. Because I have shorter hair, I am really struggling with this as well!!! Great idea to add the post! Here is the only one that I have found and like so far. I'm still looking for something to put in my hair, but am leaning towards a flower or two. I'm just really hoping my hair will grow in the next 40 days to make whatever I decide work!
  3. Thanks for the options! I think I am going to go with a white lily, cala lily bouquet and add a few of the pink stargazer lilies. I'm also going to do the 2 detachable sprays for the Mothers, which I am really excited about!!! The BM bouquet will be the same, but smaller and without cala lilies. Thanks again, ladies! I knew I could count on you!
  4. I've chosen the flowers for the arches and centerpiece for the wedding. Yeah! Here they are: Now, my dilemma is that I can't choose what to do for my bouquet and the bridesmaid bouquet! Ugh. Here's what I have it narrowed down to. Any thoughts? Can I add the new flower or should I stick with the same flowers that are in the other flower arrangements? Also, this is a photo of the bridesmaid dress. It isn't an easy color, so I really don't want to try to "match" it, ecspecially planning over the internet and email!
  5. If you love the look of cala lilies, but want a fuller bouquet here is an option. As a bonus, something like this could still capture your olive green and cream colors!

  7. I found this idea and thought it was really cute for favors at my reception back at home. Has anyone seen or know where to find seashell chocolates like this?
  8. These ladies have great advice.... I do want to add my 2 cents! I too felt like I needed to go simple and beachy feeling. I started putting on these dresses and they just didn't feel right. I ended up going with a gown that is semi-fancy (if that makes sense!), but I'm not doing a veil. Remember to find something that will travel well. Most resorts/hotels will steam it, but it was very important that it was not too heavy to carry throughout the airports and didn't wrinkle too much! The best thing that I ever did was try on everything that looked like it might work! I immediately knew which dress was the one once I put it on! The rest of the formality or in-formality of the other details revolved around the dress I chose.
  9. That is a really neat idea. Thanks! My next question - My fiance has a really close 'Mother' figure coming along with us to the wedding. She is actually his best friends' Mom, but is like a 2nd Mother to by future husband and a really close family friend. Two years ago, Casey's best friend passed away and we have all become even closer than before. I'd like to do something special for her as well. However, I don't want to diminish or hurt the feelings of our 'real' Mothers. Should I or shouldn't I?
  10. I'm having trouble deciding what kind (if any) flowers to do for our Mother's at the ceremony in Mexico! I'm thinking of getting three single stemmed yellow roses for our Mom's, writing something special, and giving these to them just before the ceremony. Have any of you tried other things for the Mothers? I don't want to do the typical corsage. Thoughts?

  15. I too am having the same issue with Occidental (although it's with the Allegro Playacar). It seems to take Karina about a week to respond to my questions, but she's very good at responding to all of them. I'm sure both Occidentals have the same packages, so if you want to talk through anything - let me know!
  16. I would like to stay under $50. I already bought her a bracelet, part of her dress, and 2 hair styles (for Mexico and the reception back home) and the necklace/earings to wear at the wedding. Has anyone seem a really cute jewelry box? I looked on the 'Things Remembered' website and found a couple. They just look so average.
  17. I'm out of ideas! I want to give my Maid of Honor, my sister, something very special for being in my wedding. First because she has always been there for me, and secondly because she is my only attendant. I don't want to get a typical bridesmaid gift.... any creative ideas? I'm stumped!
  18. Here are two photos of the inspiration that created my invitations! I created a variation to these and did them myself! As soon as I have some complete, I'll post those as well! I need to get moving on them! HA! invite2.pdf invite1.pdf invite2.pdf invite1.pdf

    Newbie!

The Occidental Allegro Playacar.... It gets VERY mixed reviews on tripadvisor.com (Mostly bad from people from the US, mostly good from people elsewhere!). I'm sure it will be fine, but I'm still nervous!
  20. Welcome! I am also getting married in the Riviera... January 25th. We have staying at the Allegro Playacar. It's small, quaint and inexpensive. I have heard great things about the Grand Palladium as well. Good luck and Welcome!

    Newbie!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I'm so glad that I was referred to this site! We are getting married in 69 days! AHHH! So much work to do! And I've recently started freaking out about the resort we are going to. I trusted my travel agent's recommendation, and now I'm really starting to wonder! Ugh. Thanks again for the warm welcome!
  22. I have just booked the Allegro Playacar. This resort was by far not our first choice, but I am happy with the smaller, quaint resort. We are getting married in January 2007 (just booked 2 weeks ago!). I was the most happy with the Grand Palladium in the Riviera, however, they fill up fast on wedding dates and times available. If I can give any advice, it would be to make sure your travel agent checks on the wedding dates available. Ours didn't and got everyone's hopes up on the 5 star hotel. Most were crushed to find out that we are now at a 3 star and paying the same price! Best of luck!
