  2. Janetta, Do you have an e-mail address I can get in touch with Fun and Motivation? I just tried [email protected] and it bounced back. I'm trying to rent a cake stand there. Thanks!
  3. I've been trying to post on the forum all day and keep getting interrupted... Yesterday 50 minutes of cardio and abs, trying an hour but I got too bored. Today kickboxing.

  6. Thank you girls! This gives me a much better idea of what prices I can negotiate on. Most girls have posted prices for orchids, so I was not sure what prices would be for other types of flowers. I am using Cabo Dream Weddings and the flower place is called Rossy. She said that she did not use Flower Cart because it's too expensive, but as you can see from the prices.... not much difference!

Tammy, It sounds to me like you sort of have narrowed it down. All of those places sound awesome! I would love to go to a hotel that has the over the water bungalows. That looks so cool!
  8. I think I'm getting quoted really high, even though my wedding planner even told me she did not use the Flower Cart because they were so expensive. If any of the prices below sound crazy to anybody, please let me know. I'm already trying to bring them down, but I honestly don't have much to go by. I will also post pics to give you guys an idea of what I'm getting. So here's my flower tally so far: My bouquet is all bright pink callas, and I'm looking at the latest worksheet and there is no price... Hmm, how did I miss this last weekend?!? 3 Bridesmaid Bouquets (6 pink poison roses and 6 orange calla lillies on each bouquet) $80 each 1 Groom boutonnier with small pink calla $25 2 large urns with white flowers $130 each Centerpieces: white roses and white lisanthius(instead of tulips like in the pic since lisanthius are cheaper): $90 each x 6 tables Total: $935 + my bouquet.

I'm trying to be really strict just because the wedding is so soon... but truffles, in front of me... that was too much self restrain. I have been slowly but surely "sharing" with people.
  10. My teammates are so sweet. Everytime they go on vacation they bring back candy for all of us. The latest just got back from Seattle, Washington and brought us all back a big bag of truffles. 4 truffles later... ahh, make me stop!! Tonight I'm heading to do cardio and some weights, hopefully legs. The weather is super gloomy here and it just makes me want to go home. I'm hoping I stay motivated to go to the gym today, especially since I have not gone the last 2 days.
  11. I'll be honest with you, if we were not getting married in Cabo I would have never been on my list of places to honeymoon. It was the perfect place for us to get married though... since it had the beach, resorts and lots of activities for everybody. I'm pretty lucky that my FI has accepted the fact that I like to travel a lot, and that part of our budget goes towards traveling every year. So every year we take some pretty nice vacations. Our honeymoon was really just about relaxing for us, so we opted to stay in Cabo right after the wedding. If we weren't staying in Cabo for the honeymoon, here are some suggestions of where I would have suggested we would go: Some island or city on the Mediterranean? That way you get the culture and a beach vacation! My suggestions: Start in Barcelona then go to Mallorca, Spain. Start in Paris and then go to Nice, France. Start in Rome and then go to Venice, Italy. (Venice is the most romantic city I've ever been to!) I would also probably have Kauai, Hawaii as a top spot and definitely stay at the Hyatt there. I saw that you have a link to it on your Hawaii posts. That hotel is truly incredible! I went a few years ago on a family vacation. Some friends of ours just came back from the Greek Islands and they loved it!
  12. I LOVE Vegas! Well... for a couple of days, there's only so long I can party like that! MGM Grand: Stayed there twice and I love it. Their rooms are comfy, the pool had tons of young people, and the bars in the hotel are great. When I was there, Tabu was really popular on Thursday nights, not sure if it is anymore, but that will give you an idea of when I was there. The Flamingo: My FI was staying there for a conference. The rooms looked like Motel 6 and so did the rest of the casino. Luckily I only stayed there one of the nights during our vacation, and then moved to The Bellagio. Day and night difference, that's for sure! Bellagio: The rooms were gorgeous. The most comfortable beds I've ever had in a hotel. The bathrooms were large and luxurious. I went in January so the pools were closed, so I can't comment on those.

  14. Seems like there is a common theme... My 2 sisters have gone through weddings already. On both of them, for some reason, my family has reared their ugly green monster heads. Both of the weddings were traditional in most senses, and my parents invited so many people since they felt entitled to, that my sisters had to cut out close friends. Between my FI and I, our list would have been huge, mostly out of obligaion. Add my family and their friends and the list from my FI's family was about 300+ people. We would have had a HUGE, impersonal and stressful wedding to plan. Not only that, I'd be so worried about cutting costs that I was sure we'd spend so much $ just from the amt of people going, yet not having anything I want at the wedding. On top of that, I LOVE to travel. I seriously view my job as a means to an end.... which for me, is to see the world. I have finally converted my FI into a traveller, so to me, a destination wedding made sense. All my friends saw it as such a no brainer since I'm always planning trips for all of us!

Anyone else out there have to pay 100% of the wedding upfront Yeah, I think my parents were letting it go after they talked to Coca, but now they are getting a bit worried about handing over the cash... I posted this question in the Yahoo Cabo forum when we first got the contract from Coca. It seems to be pretty standard. All the responses I received from those girls getting married in Cabo told me that it was what they had to do with all the companies. I never posted in this forum though, anybody else?

Ha ha, yeah, at this point, it would have driven me crazy not to have a plan! I'm glad I was able to help you out with this. You've been so helpful with all your postings! I'll keep me eye out for you at the hotel! Don't worry, I know how it is with the honeymoon... I'm hoping our guests don't go look for us during our honeymoon!

This is strictly not family!! My family is throwing me a separate "shower" with the whole family and my sis even hired a mariachi band. This is a non-lingerie shower, thank goodness! ;-) ha ha
  18. I'm so excited! My friends are throwing me a lingerie shower on the 21st. I'll have tons of pics to post!

I'm still trying to come up with something similar I loved the design so much! I'm so glad they worked out for you! That site is such an inspiration, I love all their designs.
  20. Wednesday: 1 1/2 hours of Salsa lessons (sort of a workout) Thursday: Nothing, facial- preparing for wedding Friday: Hopefully cardio and weights, maybe legs
  21. I gave you a reply in the Honeymoon poll posting. Let me know if you have any questions.

We got the SAME exact explanation for the need to have the payment before the wedding. At least it is consistent. If ANYTHING goes wrong with this, I will let you know! I will probably be back in the U.S. before you leave for Cabo.

Oh good, you're getting the honeymoon figured out! We are staying at the Pueblo Bonito Rose during the wedding. The hotel looks really nice, has a really nice spa on premises, has GREAT reviews on tripadvisor.com, all the rooms are suites with kitchenettes, and you are within walking distance to downtown Cabo. The only thing that may not be good for the honeymoon is that all rooms are double beds only. I believe that you can get the beds made into one big bed, but you may want to call the hotel to make sure. Also I believe the Blanco next door to the Rose is supposed to be a bit more quiet and intimate. But the room configurations are the same. If you decide to stay at either one, definitely let's plan to meet up and say hello! We will be at the Rose Nov 1st through the 5th. I would love to meet you!!

I'm glad you still like them! I felt bad killing your happy mood when you found them!! I was so bummed I didn't order the Barcelona menus and the table numbers. I really loved the design! So are the real invites with clean edges, etc?
  25. Tammy, Thanks for posting stuff like this! I tried to encourage all of our guests to not book through Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, etc... On tripadvisor there were many times that people wrote a complaint that even thought they had booked at X Pueblo Bonito Resort, they were given a check in for Y Pueblo Bonito Resort. Not a big deal if you are going from the Rose to the Pacifica which is nicer, but it is going to be a big deal if it is for a wedding, ect... Of course, some people still booked thru those sites... but what can you do?
