Hey all:)

 

Stephanie & Jamie, April 24, 2010

 

I am working with a wedding planning company from toronto and am visiting the resort in the beginning of december. While i am there i will take pics & post them on here for everyone to see.

 

Is anyone nervous about going with a resort that is brand spankin new?? and has anyone gotten negative reviews about the dreams chains?? im so nervous & want the resort to be amazing...

I cant wait to see your pictures when you get back.

I was nervous in the beginning. But I think they are going to be going out of there way to have excellent service b/c it is new. They want to get those rooms booked. Another thing to think of a lot of people that will be working at this resort were moved from other resorts. So they will have experience. THis is what my wedding planner told me.

We are looking to get married around the begining of october 2010.

 

Does anyone know which UK travel agent books trips to this hotel?

I agree, it is great! I don't have my invites out yet. I am hoping to put them together this weekend and have them out by Monday or Tuesday. I am making them myself (with the help of my mom), so hopefully everything goes as planned :) I didn't send out "save the date"s at all... I really didn't have time though, but everyone who is going to be invited knows what we are doing, so I think that's okay. I think we are inviting 60-70, but we already know a lot who won't be able to come to Mexico. So, I am hoping to have 30, maybe 40 at the most? How many are you having? Are you doing any planned activities for everyone who comes?

Congrats Stephanie! I am definitely a little nervous about going to a brand new resort but I am excited too since everything will be nice and new! I really have heard mostly good things about the Dreams resorts and my travel agent recommended Dreams for weddings, so I am optimistic that everything will be great! :)

for anyone that doesnt already know, the facebook group for the Dreams hotel is great, there are lots of brides & grooms on there & they post new pics every tuesday. I have to say i was excited & less nervous to see the pictures, the resort already looks great:) and each person getting married there starting in november is going to post pics & reviews so i cant wait for that!!

I have to be honest, I feel kind of clueless as to how many people will actually make it, but possibly 60...? I may be way off though - we'll see. So can I ask, any thought to photographer or dj/music yet? I am wondering if I should be getting those booked already. Also, do you think you will have reception on the beach or wedding gazebo? I can't decide until I at least see a picture of the gazebo.

 

And yes Noonie, Rod on facebook has been a wealth of information. So far I am very impressed with the customer service there. I can't wait until it actually opens and we can get some real feedback!

For the pictures of the beach I googled puerto morales. Which is where the resort is located. Some pictures were great of the water some not so much. But I did not ever think of the hurricanes and when the pictures might had been taken. I would think that Dreams resort knows how to make a wonderful resort. They are not going to spend a ton of money on a resort and put it on a beach with ugly water.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
