Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Welcome to the new ladies and good luck!

So I think I am going to contact Carlos directly and skip even asking Swank for a quote. I don't feel like dealing with the stress of having someone tell me I owe them for quoting me a price if I decid not to use them, and I've seen nothing but good things said about Carlos. Hopefully he is still free on my day still! Does anyone have a direct email for Carlos, or do I just send to the general mannia one?

Thanks! I know there are so many pages to this thread I'm trying to read them all and get caught up. Are there any site travel agents anyone has used? Or all outside TA's? I'm also trying to get a feel for the weather situation in RM. It seems like June 2010 brides have already booked! I better get my site visit soon! I'm just so excited this resort seems wonderful. Does the resort give any discount for booking a block of rooms?

Thanks!

Sara

Sara, I just booked my day in Jan 2010 like a week ago. I wouldn't get too worked up about availability in June. Perla told me that aim to have it done no latter then about 6 months out. June is probably a bit of a slower month for them, so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Hi ladies,

I'm wondering if any of you have the prices handy for the videographer. I want to book him just for the ceremony -- we are bringing our photogs, but I didnt think of video!!! I emailed Perla, but haven't heard back on this yet, so I figured I'd throw it out to you all.

Thanks!!

Hi ladies,

I've emailed DJMannia for a quote. I thought I was a simple kind of bride, but I just saw a picture of their lighted dance floor, and it looks so cool! Uh oh!

Also, I'm looking for suggestions for photographers. I am trying to decide whether to use one from there, or fly one in. I want most of my pictures to be candid, so I need someone who is good at being unseen so they can get some great shots. I will still get the standard pics of us with certain family members, but I don't want to spend two hours taking posed pics of us with our wedding party. Any recommendations for a photog who takes great candids?

Also, how long did you have your photog there for? I am thinking I want someone from when I am getting dressed through to at least the start of the dancing.

And one more question, how many of you did a video of the ceremony and who did you use for that? How did it turn out? Ahh! So many questions. Now that my day is booked and I've almost got things arranged for the price, I am getting so excited. I don't think I've slept well in 3 weeks now. Can you imagine when I actually get close to the dayhuh.gif

Has anyone heard back from Perla lately?

Laurenandbill - I notice your date is fast approaching. Have you had any recent contact from Perla?

I sent an email to her at the end of May and then another one on Sunday night. Have heard nothing. Was wondering if there is anything up with the resort because of the swine flu, maybe she is not working full time anymore? I need to get a quote from her and confirm our date...

Hard to call her because of the time difference (I am in Australia for the year) and our headset is broken so the connection over skype is not the best. Guess I will have to wait and see. Maybe send another email in a week if I do no hear anything. Suggestions?

It seems like April - May are the busiest months with weddings at Paradisus? Can anyone fill me in on what is the busy season and what is the off season for the resort/region. Also, if you go during off season is there a good chance that you experience most of things at the resort closed as some of the girls have recently? sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
