zone diet delivery?

Recommended Posts

so ladies (and gents) i broke my ankle a while ago and gained about 30lbs from being lazy, eating junk and not exercising AT ALL

(i have to admit it was kind of funpopcorn.gif)

i started working out and using www.myfooddiary.com in the beginning of the year, starting gung ho and lost 12lbs, have been tracking food and exercise but had Lasik around July 4th - ever since i can't get it together - i gained back about 5lbs and have been having wine and snacks like i don't have any weight left to lose. i have been exercising pretty regularly but at the end of the day i am just eating too many calories!

i really want to lose ALL the weight before the spring so i can go dress shopping and not stress out.

i have been thinking about getting http://www.diettogo.com/0107web/index.htm

it is like a zone diet delivery service

i know Jen (jenandbrendanwedding) is doing NutriSystem - (BTW - how is it going?)

has anyone else done a zone type diet deliverey or any diet delivery?

what are the Pros/Cons? Can you still drink wine / eat out occassionally?

Well I would say if you want to keep the weight off then go back to myfooddiary. I have heard many a story of girls dropping to 800 calories before their big day and gaining it all back. I am doing WW and have lost about 15lbs. I can't speak for all the food delievery systems but I work with a woman who tried Nurtisystems and she couldn't handle it for very long and the price is high.

Thus ends my giving of my two cents....good luck with finding the plan that works for you.

thanks stephanie! i definitely don't want to crash diet - i really just want to get back to my normal size. i am not used to having to diet so hard and am having a really hard time monitoring myself (IE...i don't want to!) so i was thinking the delivery is fresh and homemade and pre-portioned for 3 meals, 2 snacks and 1200 calories a day so i don't have to think about it.

sorry about the rant but i am conflicted about doing it...

It may help you in the long run if you can see what 1200 calories looks like and copy it some time after you end your run with their program.

I once heard a lady say that if you will be better off changing then why would you stay the same. That really got me back on track thinking about what I am and what I want to be. They are not the same thing right now. I know it is a really hard thing to do.

yes, this particular company does fresh meals in SF, DC and now PHilly. i just spoke with them and for 7 days (3 meals, 2 snacks) it is $116 - that really doesn't sound like a lot - we spend like $800 a month at whole paycheck (i mean whole foods LOL). there is no committment so you can do a week at a time but the woman said NO BOOZE - she said the booze decreases your weight loss by 1/3. smile27.gif i think i am going to do it!

i know! i just ordered 1 week to try it (i really like that it is the same price if you order for 1 week or 5)

even though they have the fresh pick up in philly, you have to pick up 2x per week and the location is about 40 min with bad traffic so i went with the fresh frozen delivery...

here is the deal:

$116.99 per week
$ 16.95 delivery
$ 1.50 substitutions
$18.00 DISCOUNT

$117.44 TOTAL

(you go over the menu and can substitute any meals you don't like the sound of for $0.50 per meal)

overall, the menus look really good, if you don't like something, they will offer you a credit and they have been in business for 15 years.

i will keep you ladies posted - it ships on Mon and should be here Tues or Wed! woot2.gif

That sounds sooooooooooo much better than Nutrisystem. Wish they had that here in NY. The cheapest thing they have here is $39.99 a DAY!!! Too expensive for me.

So far, I've lost 6 pounds in just under 3 weeks on Nutrisystem. Not too bad considering I haven't worked out at all.

BUT. . . the food is weird. It's ALL pantry food. NOTHING goes in the fridge. Strange!!!! For example, they give you chicken salad and turkey hotdogs that don't need to be refrigerated. What's wrong with that picturehuh.gif Anyway, as far as cost, it's not bad at all. I think it works out to just under $10 a day. But I don't see anyone being able to stay on it for a long period of time. All those preservatives can't be good for you.

So, I decided to finish the month of food they sent me and then go back to WW. I've always done well on WW. It just takes a little more time and effort to count everything out. Oh well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
