RonNMel: OMG your boarding pass save the dates and brochure are nothing but gorgeous!

I am running into a slight problem.. my FI's sister-in-law's cousin was supposed to design us a monogram.. but that was in March and haven't gotten any news from her! I think I'm going to forget her.. sad.gif She's young and just got out of school at Concordia in graphic design but can't seem to stick to anything in terms of work, clients, etc. So I'm sh-t out of luck as they say.

How much do you think your sister-in-law would charge me for a monogram, save the date postcard (using a pic of us + monogram + text) and boarding pass invites? Is there any way you can ask her to make us a price? Would she want to do more work like this for someone else?

Let me know!! We just had our engagement pics taken today on the south shore (in La Prairie). I will have some proofs in two weeks, can't wait!

caribbeanlover: How was the wedding? Was it everything you thought it would be? Pics!?

We had fun in Mexico.. we visited the Valentin Imperial Maya (where we want to get married next June). We will only give our deposit at the end of June since I want to be sure where I'll be teaching next year in order to book a specific date.

Hope to hear back from you girls soon!

OMG! You just reminded me that I was suppose to make a referral for my FI's cousin on this board. Oops.blush2.gif

Thanks for the compliment. Yes, she would love to do that kind of work again. She said that the work she did for us, she would charge around 200-300$. I don't know if what you're asking would be the same, less or more. If you PM me your email I can pass it along to her so she can contact you.

I'm a teacher too, still on a different contract every year. I did not wait to see where I will be teaching next year before booking, as it is in our collective agreement that we can take 7 days off for our wedding, including the wedding day.

Are you teaching elementary or high school?

Have fun Purple Shells! Can't wait to hear back from you. :-)

Hey again!

Ouch 2-300$ is a bit over my budget.. but I have no doubts that her work is worth it because your items are gorgeous!

Even so, here's my email: [email protected]

It's not that private so no worries lol.

Yeah as for booking... if I change schools I'm not sure to have the same 7 day vacation for a wedding since I'm in the private sector. I teach in Longueuil in a private high school (Sec II ESL). Anyways.. it will all pass so fast I'm sure and even if the hotel doesn't have a particular date we want, we're flexible. Not even 2-3 weeks ago there was nobody booked for next June yet so I'm not too worried about waiting another month before giving out deposit (which is... 800$!! :/)

Are you going to attempt to print the invitations yourself or will your FI's cousin do it?

I would only need the electronic version of the monogram and invites since I want to try and DIY it for the rest! Let me know when you have a min!

BTW everyone, jstar83 (Jessica) from Laval is leaving Sunday for her wedding in Cuba!! Hope all goes well!

Hey guys!!!

Finally get back to 'normal' life, head is starting to come out of paradise.

I feel so lost with this thread.. no way in catching up. So I'm excited to hear what everyone has been up to,where your all at in planning.

RonnMEl, Love love your boarding passes!!

Our wedding was perfect, everything we expected and more!!! We had our ceremony at 6 as suppose to 2:30.. and thank god because it rained at that time. we went to take pictures on the beach since we forego the beach ceremony and went with a gazebo over looking the ocean. But since it was a cloudy day we lost light quick. But our pictures turn out beautifully and amazing. I'm stunned just how well they did turn out.

We had a semi private dinner at an A La Cart near the ceremony, I choose the wrong thing on the menu, which was pasta and chicken... I thought it would have been seprate..but it wasn't, it was all mixed together. While some of the other girls choice steak and had great comments about it. Some of our guest like it, some didn't.. but no complaints. We didn't even notice other guest so it really felt like a private dinner. Then we went to have a beach party with a private bad and DJ. Everyone especially us had the best time of our lives. A lot of our guest goes to a lot of weddings, and DW and said ours was by far the best they had ever been to. And really appreciated all the efforts I had gone through (like the OOT bags, ect..)

Our WC was real nice, and made sure we felt special. We had a 'just married' sign on our door when we got back, and breakfast in bed the next morning. However we didn't get the bottle of champagne that was suppose to be in our room that night (but we wouldn't have drank it that night, as we didn't need another sip of alcohol at that point, but we could of had it another night!!!) and we didn't get the free gift (just married t-shirts) but even with the minor mishaps it was all worth it and would recommend it to anymore! I wont remember this stuff in a few months... just the look of my husbands face when I walk down the aisle.

Welcome back Tracy!!

Very happy your wedding was great!! Too bad it rained a bit. Can't wait to see pictures, the ones in your signature look amazing. :-)

My wedding planning is pretty much at a stall now. Bought my flip flops, but most of all we are just waiting on people to RSVP and book. Only our parents have booked so far, and two of his friends have RSVPed yes.

We are more focused on planning our Disneymoon. LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
