I'm assuming that the CD player is up in the gazebo, so I know the guests should all be able to hear the music fine, but I'd like to also hear it when we're 'walking down the aisle'. Did you have any trouble with that?
I think for the actual ceremony, the CD is the only option. I had to pick 5 songs and burn them on a CD. I changed the order a bit from what they recommended. My songs coincided with the following 5 activities: 1) processional (bridesmaids/groomsmen), 2) bridal entrance, 3) sand ceremony, 4) cutting of the cake, 5) recessional. Since we were in Mexico, I really wanted mariachis... so I had them come in at the beginning of my reception (not during the cocktail hour).

As far as hearing the music, you are on the aisle/walkway for such a short amount of time (even shorter in the other gazebos) and there is so much going through your mind that I am not sure how loud the music was. I vaguely remembering hearing something, but I can't really say how loud it was. I really don't think it is a big deal because everything happens so fast... Inside the gazebo, the volume was not an issue.

Hi everyone! I am JUST back from MP and our wedding. We had an absolutely fantastic time and each of you should be very excited that you picked MP for your wedding. I would live there if I could :)

Although I plan on doing a complete review, I've read through the posts I've missed since I've been gone and wanted to answer a few questions while its fresh in memory.

1 - I had the Tucan Gazebo and Terrace, and although I may be biased, I think it is the best. It is further away from things, has a long walkway and just seemed more private. Don't worry about them using a "CD player" for your wedding music. I was concerned as well, but it was actually a sound system. I could hear the music perfectly well the entire time. Also if you really want a beach wedding remember that the gazebos are just feet from the beach - you can see it all in the background. You get the best of both worlds even if its in a gazebo over actually on the beach.

2 - Seaweed - we took pics on the beach and although I did get a little bit of seaweed stuck on the bottom of my dress, the MP works very hard at keeping everything maintained and clean. One of our friends was running one morning and saw them literally using a dump truck to rid of the seaweed. You will also see workers raking it up throughout the day. As a whole, I didn't even notice it.

3 - mosquitoes - I don't think I even saw a mosquito while we were there, and no one we were with ever complained about it. In fact, I thought to myself, with the humidity I was surprised we didn't see bugs. So even within a couple of weeks since the beginning of Nov that changed. It may depend on the season and whether it has been raining. It did not rain at all when we were there (though we did get a couple of cloudy days - boooo!).

4 - restaurants - were all fantastic! My favorite was the Carribean place on the grand side, though we did not have a bad meal anywhere while we were there. Actually my favorite was ROOM SERVICE, which was awesome - anything you wanted, anytime! P.S. I previously posted asking about shoes and long pants, etc, and we never had trouble. I don't think long pants or shoes were ever mentioned to us, however, its better to be safe than sorry!!

5 - wind - i didn't really notice the wind until the day of the wedding, and then it was blessed. My legs were so hot under my dress that it was great when the wind was blowing!! It did blow my hair around, but pics still turned out great, and I wasn't wearing a veil so maybe that made a difference.

Overall, ladies, don't worry too much about planning every little thing ahead of time. It WILL all work out in the end. They go through everything in detail at your meeting and they are really flexible. I worried plenty about my WC (Nancy, or Pilar, or, etc...) not keeping in close contact, but they keep track of everything you ask for even if they don't respond. Our wedding was PERFECT!!

Good luck everyone and I will post a review soon. Let me know if you have ANY questions!

It is also really close - you will definitely be able to see the ocean. There is a sidewalk that runs the length of the resort, essentially right along the beach, and then a short wall before you (go down steps and) get to the beach. The sidewalk does go between the catholic gazebo and the wall, it goes around the tucan gazebo though. The catholic gazebo also has a water feature pond type thing around it too.

You may ask your WC what they do if both your mom and dad are walking you down the isle (to throw out an idea). They seem pretty strict about it just being you and the person walking you down the isle, but what if more than one person walks you down...?

                  Hey Ladies!

So I've been trying to figure out this apostille document thing...I think I've got how to get them figured out, but my question that I haven't been able to find an answer to is - do they expire

Since neither Matt or I live in the state where we were born currently, we have to do the mail in process for both our documents. We were kind of hoping to just do it now and get it out of the way, even though our wedding isn't until July...does anyone know if these documents expire or are only good for a certain period of time??

Also, how do you file your marriage license after you get back? Has anyone done this yet? I know many of you have gotten legally married in the US first, but Matt and I really want to do the legal in Mexico deal.

                  Eeps!

are u doing a legal ceremony or a catholic ceremony?

i am wondering how i could get away with getting married in a catholic ceremony and have that be legal in US. =( i really dont want to do the legal thing then have teh ceremony. i'd rather have the priest pronounce us man and wife like teh traditional way...
