Only #3 saves us $400 USD. #1 and 2 are the same price. I thought bloodwork would cost about $200, so I'm surprised there isn't a small dent in cost. frown.gif

NOw I just have to figure out if I'm ok with FI's brother doing the ceremony for us or if I want to keep spending the $400 for some minister to perform the symbolic ceremony for us...
That is strange that it still costs the same. I wonder why they don't use a staff member from the resort to do the ceremony, that would sve on the cost. Also the blood work not having to be done should also decrease the cost like you said. Honestly, if it was going to cost the same, I would probably be more inclined to just do the legal down there. The price difference is what final convinced us to do the legal here rather than down there. Let us know what you decide.

For our resort it costs the same too, I think we just save on the blood tests, that's it. My fiance won't budge on getting married before hand, so that totally blows.

No matter what I say to him, he won't change his mind. Even our photog is attempting to convince him to getting married before hand.

Ugh....

I am thinking of doing it right before but I am curious how soon to do it. I don't trust doing it down there. I have too much else to worry about, I would rather take care of that part myself! How soon did you all who did it do it? or how soon do you all plan to do it?

Hey Heather,

While I'm not marrying at your resort, I am doing the symbolic ceremony at mine in DR.

We didn't want to deal with translation, waiting for a couple of days beforehand, and ONE judge in the entirety of Punta Cana (meaning his schedule depended on when we'd get married). So we decided to have our civil ceremony here, and have our marriage blessed there by our pastor. We're flying him down there.

It's so much easier and we're saving about $600-$700 just on the difference of the package (symbolic) this way and it includes EVERYTHING the wedding package does!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
