Anyone heard of Viva Wyndham Maya/Azteca?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, has anyone heard of the Viva Wyndham Maya and Wyndham Azteca in RM area? I was looking at the map posted on another thread and didn't see it. I was wondering if it i there still and if its a good resort. I think it may be a 3 star hotel. Thanks

I think this is the place that I stayed a couple of years ago when I was on vacation with my family. I think it was the Azteca. It was a pretty nice hotel and resort.

From what I remember about it, the Azteca is a total family place...lots of activities for kids, games, etc. I was there as a 23 year old with my mom, sister (25), brother (18 years old), and a few family friends (all 18+), so all the activities weren't appealing to us.

However, if you are looking for a place that can entertain kids, then it would be a great place! The lobby is beautiful, beach was gorgeous, amazing pool area, etc. I would rate the food at about a 6 on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best)...hope this helps!!

I stayed there a couple of years back and it was ok. Definitely a 3 star, in food quality, cleanliness etc.. It was fun for us because we went for spring break, so the quality of the place didn't matter too much.

  • 2 weeks later...

I stayed there for spring breaj a coupleof years ago and absolutely loved it- yeah it is a 3 star hotel- but the service was great- people very friendly as well as cost freindly- I was thinking about this hotel (maya) for my wedding in May of 2009 but decided on the Riu Yucatan just because we wanted to go somewhere neither of us has been. If youhave any questions feel free to send me a message. Good Luck!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
