  1. Hey Allie, Go to the image gallery tab at the top of the webpage and then look for the album titled: "March 16th, 2013: Dreams Palm Beach Wedding." I just checked and was able to find it ... hope you can too.

  3. Mekai, We hired HDC for three hours of coverage (preparation, ceremony, and photos after the ceremony) as well as having the resort photographer. The resort photographer is only there for the duration of your ceremony and then immediately leaves. I was never even introduced to him or got a chance to say Hi. I was pleasantly surprised by the great quality and creative shots that the resort photographer captured -- they were some of our favoites from the ceremony.

  5. Hey there ladies, We recently returned from our wedding on March 16th at DPB. It was amazing and everything we had dreamed. I posted an album in the image gallery: March 16th, 2013 Dreams Palm Beach Wedding. The photos were taken by HDC and the resort photographer. There are a few pics with the decorations we chose for the beach and pool island. I'll be writing a review today so check it out for more information on our experience. Happy planning ladies!

  7. Various Pictures from our wedding and trash the dress session: Wedding photographed by HDC
  8. Without reservations I would recommend HDC photography. We just returned from our wedding on March 16th in Punta Cana and couldn't be more thrilled with our pictures. They definitely captured the entire wedding: big events and small details alike. We are most excited about our trash the dress pictures and would encourage you to do this! We have amazing pictures in the gardens, on the beach, in the ocean, and in the pool and my dress still looks perfect (I think the key was ending with the pool)
  9. Hey ladies, I just returned from the Dominican and chose HDC for our wedding photography and trash the dress session the next day. We couldn't be more thrilled regarding the quality of our pictures, especially those from the trash the dress shoot. We did encounter a few hiccups during the selection process and in receiving our pictures prior to our departure, but in the grand scheme of things, I am extremely satisfied with HDC and would recommend them without reservation for your wedding photography!
  10. Hey April4884~ Congrats on setting the date and choosing Dreams! I am currently working with Patty Jordan from Wright Travel Agency (official TA for BDW). She has been absolutely wonderful and very promp with responses. Essentially after contacting Patty and deciding on Dreams, she requests a group contract from Travel Impressions. We are booking 10 rooms (6 room minimum for a 'group') and once signing the contract, we were responsible for putting down a $1,000 deposit to secure the rooms. Once your guests contact the TA and commit to a room, they will then put down a $100 deposit per person and your original deposit will go towards the cost of your room instead. With this promotional contract, you are still eligible for the complimentary wedding package at Dreams. Also 1 free VIP room upgrade per 10 paid rooms; and 1 "complimentary" room per 6 rooms booked -- the complimentary room is a credit you will received after returning from your trip. Hope this helps! I definately recommend a TA. Quote: Originally Posted by april4884 Hello everyone! I feel like I already know you all from reading the forum. I do have a question perhaps someone can help me with.... How is everyone working out a group rate/payment (if you don't mind me asking)? We are looking at 20-30 people and it seems as though the only way to get our room free/upgrades is to book and pay for the whole thing at once. We are very uncomfortable with asking guests to pay us back personally for their rooms but I also hate to miss our on our free rooms. Any input/suggestions would be extremely appreciated. Does a TA get us the free rooms without us paying? Does anyone have a good TA they recommend?
  11. Hey Spaterson~ I was wondering if you ended up having the bonfire/beach party the night before your wedding? I've heard mixed things regarding the cost vs length of the bonfire and was wondering if you could give any input. Thanks
  12. Welcome to the forum IslandBarbie~ For the wedding ceremony I think the decision comes down to whether you envision a beach wedding with your toes in the sand and the caribbean as the backdrop or not. With the beach location you will undoubtedly have more 'on-lookers' as the beach isn't closed off to just your wedding party. The gazebo location is a little more private but you wont see much of the water/beach. I think it's a bit of a trade off either way... but both option sound beautiful! Personally I'm a beach girl, so my toes will be in the sand
  13. Congrats on your wedding Spaterson!! Since you had planned on the poolside reception before it got rained out, I was wondering if you had to plan on lighting or if it's provided. And if provided, what type of lighting? I've been leaning towards the poolside reception but after hearing about your experience, the ballroom may be the way to go... more intimate, air conditioning, etc Thanks!
  14. There is a $250.00 extra charge for the poolside reception... no additional charge for the beach or indoor location.
  15. Hi all!! Thanks for having such a great contest, Nora and Chris. If nothing else comes out of this it was fun reminiscing the past 5 years and now I have our 'love-story' written down!! The attachment is a little lengthy, so thanks for reading. Our Love Story.docx
