  1. We used Tai for our wedding back in October 2012 and also had a bad experience. They were supposed to deliver the flowers in the morning around 10AM but ended up waiting all the way until 3PM to deliver them to the front reception. We had to send a runner over from one end of the resort all the way to get them, sort through them, set them up and get them to the right places (decorations, family, bridal party, etc.) We had our service at 3:30 and I literally had my flowers pinned on me as I was walking to the front for the service. Try to explore other options if possible but they definitely have a monopoly.
  2. I just had a wedding there - it's fantastic - do you have specific questions?
  3. have a question for y'all: we're wanting to get married at iberostar rose hall beach (we're staying at the suites but it's booked for the day that we would like) but they say their steakhouse restaurant can only accommodate 120 guests and we're expecting btwn 100-150. we're afraid if we're on the high end that many won't have seats for the dinner. has anyone encountered this problem? also, we would like to NOT book one of the 2 packages they've arranged on t heir site - we have our own minister, getting married legally in canada, own musicians, photographers/videographers, decorators etc. is there any way that we can opt out of the plans and just get married or pay another fee to just book the space? anyone have any insight? thanks!
  4. thanks for the welcome and the resources. we're definitely going to check out half moon now - resort looks great! we're also considering iberostar rose hall suites and possibly the ritz carlton rose hall.

  7. Hi everyone, I have been lurking here for a while and have gotten a lot of great tips and tricks when planning for our DW. I am a rare Groom-to-be although my FI does check out this forum as well with my account. We were originally going to have our wedding in the Mayan Riviera but due to some negative press and some uneasyness from our guests, we are reconsidering and have decided to choose a resort in Jamaica. I would love some advice on possible resorts for our wedding. Here are the criteria and details: - 110-160 guests expected - however, smaller boutique resort preferred - we don't want a mega-resort and would prefer sub-300/400 rooms as a maximum - want a luxury resorts - a true 5-star or as close as possible - good food, decor/surroundings is important to us - all inclusive is a must - beautiful beach - whole reason for a DW for us is to get married on beach so that is important - budget is approximately $300-450/room/night but would be willing to stretch that a bit if needed - dec 06, 2012 wedding Thanks in advance and appreciate any and all advice!
