I was really on the fence about this but I think I am going to do it now, forget about the budget can anyone recommend anyone in the DC/baltimore/Northern virginia area? Things can get really expensive around here and I don't want to get ripped off. Thanks

I live in the DC area and have been looking around at prices. So far I have seen as low as $200 just for the shoot, plus make-up and album, up to $500 for the shoot plus the extras. The higher prices ones seem to have better websites and look a little nicer. I feel like this is something where spending a little extra would pay off, you definitely want someone professional, so I might spring for it, totally not in my original budget but oh well, he will love it. I was planning on giving it to him the night before the wedding, we will be in separate hotel rooms. I figure it will give him something to think about while he is sleeping alone Is anyone doing their own make-up? I was considering this but am a little nervous about it not looking good. What about false eyelashes? I saw a photographer highly recommend these, but I am not a big fan... Thanks ladies, this has been helpful!

I am so sorry that your dad is causing you so much stress. Congrats on getting some things in place, I am sure that has given you some piece of mind. I have spent most of my night crying because my mother pretty much told me that she isnt coming to the wedding. she is afraid of flying, and I know that ( I will spare you the back-story but needless to say my mom and I have strained relationship-she has some pretty serious issues that she has never dealt with) but I thought maybe she would express some desire to be there. I don't understand why she can't just take some valium and get on a plane with my dad. She is laying a guilt trip on me because "I knew that she CAN'T fly," and I still decided to plan a wedding somewhere that she would have to fly to get to. dont mind the fact that this is my wedding and I have been wanting to get married on a beach in Mexico for years, pretty much since I started taking spanish classes in 9th grade. I probably sound like an insensitive you know what but most of my life I have thrown aside what I wanted in order to try to make my mom happy, and to no avail. This is my wedding and I am not willing to compromise on what I want, but if course I am incredibly hurt that she didnt even entertain the thought of coming. I am fortunate in the fact that I have some good friends that I know will be there and be incredibly happy to share in our special day, but isn't your mom supposed to be the one who is happiest for you?!? I am sure by the time the day rolls around I will be ok with it and won't let it ruin my day, but right now I am just really upset about it! Ok, thanks for letting me vent ladies! Hope your families are being more supportive than mine.

I am getting married at Dreams PV in October 2010 and am considering using DD, not sure if we can fit them into the budget though. For those of you who used them and got married at Dreams PV, how much did Dreams charge you to use an outside coordinator? I have looked through the documents they sent me but i can't find it...thanks!

I am getting married at Dreams in October 2010. We are doing the ultimate package as well. I was also quoted at $55 per person above 20 for dinner and the cocktail hour. As for the decor, I think with the ultimate package they include linens, torches and candles. But they specify that you can request a certain color linens but they can't promise they will get them. after reading Jess' review of dazzling details, I am thinking about hiring them to handle the decor.

Hi Jess, Congratulations, everything looked so beautiful. I am in the very beginning stages of planning my October 2010 wedding at dreams PV. Wondering if you would mind answering a few questions... Since you hired Dazzling Details, how involved was Rebeca the WC? She has been pretty responsive as far as getting back to me but doesn't always answer my questions. I am debating whether to hire outside help, not sure if it will fit into my budget, so I am just trying to get an idea of how much a difference it will make. I am glad you pointed out the thing with the rooms. I got a quote for my "group rate" on the rooms for my guest, which I guess is supposed to be a discount, but its no cheaper than the rate you get if you just go onto the website and book a reservation. Should I even try to negotiate on this point? Did you use an outside travel agent? I have spoken to one and she seems to be trying to steer me away from Dreams, and I am pretty set on the location. Sorry for so many questions...this is a bit overwhelming in the beginning stages. Thanks! Congrats again. Adrienne

Hi! I am in the process of booking my wedding at Dreams PV for October 9, 2010. I have not actually been to the resort, but after doing a LOT of research, I think it has what we are looking for. I have already been in touch with Rebeca and Tania the WC and grou[ rate coordinator. They have been pretty responsive so far. Hello, My name is Adrienne. Derek and I are looking forward to planning our wedding. We have not set an official date yet, but we are looking at mid October 2010. Also haven't officially decided on a location. We want to get married in Puerto Vallarta and are leaning towards Dreams. So much to decide! Looking forward to hearing about everyone's experiences.
