  1. Hey Fellow Brides and Brides to Be, In response to the original post by JBenson, I am so sorry to hear about your experience. I recently got married at Dreams Cancun on April 20th, 2010 and it was the best experience of our lives. We are so happy that we decided to have a destination wedding and that we chose Dreams Cancun. Yes, the Gazebo was under construction when we arrived and we did voice our concerns to Claudia. She said that we will be able to get married there and we did! Even the morning of the wedding, the workers were working on it (We had a view of the gazebo from our room) but thankfully I didn't stress out and had faith. The top was not finished and wasn't going to be and we knew that. Claudia had the top (the finished part) wrapped in white and it looked gorgeous. You would never be able to tell that it was under construction. It was beautiful and dream like. We loved it and thought it was even better than having the top on. It looked great, all our guests were impressed and we absolutely have no complaints about the Gazebo or Claudia. She will pull everything together and make your day perfect. For those brides to be at Dreams Cancun, enjoy the experience. The best advise I got before the wedding was that as long as you are there and the groom is there, then it's already perfect. Don't let the little things stress you, it's really not worth it. Enjoy your day!
  2. Hi Chris, We were a bit nervous as well leading up to the wedding. Sometimes it does take Claudia some time to respond to emails. Let me assure you that she's on top of everything. When we met with her for the first time, everything was organized and pretty much done. Hardly anything for us to do. She does work very hard on the weddings and made our day perfect. We just handed everything to her and she pulled it all together. Our guests were overly impressed with how everything looked.
  3. Hi All, I also recently got married at Dreams Cancun - April 20th, 2010! It was amazing. When we arrived, the gazebo was under construction and we weren't sure that it was going to be ready for the big day. Claudia assured us that someone, we will be married there. On the day of, it was still being worked on, I woke up, looked outside and could see the workers working (ladies - my best advice, don't get stressed out, especially right in the morning - it's not worth it). The top of the Gazebo wasn't going to be finished at all and we knew that from the day we arrived. Claudia had the top wrapped in white cloth and decorated the columns with flowers. It looked amazing and maybe even better than it would have looked with the top on. It was dreamy and the top was open so you could see the sky above. Claudia is amazing and she will no doubt do her absolute best to make sure your wedding is perfect. We loved it the way it was and wouldn't change a thing! Congrats to all who recently got married and those with upcoming ceremonies.
  4. Hi Everyone, I want to say congrats on your upcoming marriages at Dreams Cancun. I was recently married there (2 weeks ago to be exact - April 20, 2010). Everything was perfect and Claudia was amazing to work with and made our day even more special than we had ever expected. I would recommend the speakers for the ceremony as it adds to the overall feel and romance of getting everything started. There is a technician that is available, you just have to give him the songs you would like played and let him know when to play them during the ceremony. We took our own photographer and videographer from home and didn't use the one offered in the package so unfortunately I can't comment on that. We originally wanted our reception on the Caribe Beach, but it was a bit windy and chilly in the evenings so we moved it to the Club Terrace and it was great. Everyone was really impressed with the set up. The terrace stays open so guests can still go outside, the terrace is right over the beach and you get a great view of the Gazebo. The minister was Gino and he was great, spoke perfect English and brought laughter and tears to our eyes during the ceremony. Would highly recommend him. The civil ceremony is about 30 minutes. Ours was a bit longer because we said our own vows and also had a reading from the Bible. For the hair and makeup, I would highly recommend that you go to the spa knowing exactly what you would like done and give them as much direction as possible. Also take your own makeup. They used my make up and wanted to use some of their own to give me that extra special look but I was very disappointed, I looked really made up when I had wanted a very natural look. I'm hoping our photographer can work his magic so the photos don't look like I have too much on. Give yourself a lot of time for the hair and make up. I had mine scheduled at 9 am, and was supposed to be finished by 11 am at the latest but didn't get out until noon-ish and was in a rush to get dressed for the photos before the ceremony. Otherwise, it was a perfect day and I wouldn't change a thing (except the make up). Claudia was amazing and I really can't thank her enough.
  5. Thanks everyone. We are getting married at Dreams Cancun Resort & Spa. I've been looking for inexpensive beach totes to use as gift bags in Canada but no luck as yet. We may end up using regular gift bags instead to minimize costs but are still looking.
  6. Hi Everyone, We are getting married in Mexico in April 2010. Any ideas about gift bags/baskets and vendor information you can provide would be most welcome. Thanks, Shark!
