  1. Also look back at my review: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t26013
  2. We did Riu Tropical Bay for our wedding then Sandals Whitehouse for our honeymoon. Whitehouse is beautiful and relaxing...was nice after the busy first week.
  3. I was married pre-palace in July. You can see my review and pictures: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t26013
  4. When we originally decided on RTB, the price was much higher then we ended up paying. I think you can reserve your wedding date and time now, then wait a bit to see if the price goes down. Also ask your TA about price protection. You would have to watch/check every so often to see if the price has gone down. I did and we ended up paying less than we originally thought.
  5. They take a BUNCH of pictures and you get to look at all of them on their computer and choose (at the RTB). We did the 24 pictures with the disc.
  6. I was married there July/08. If you have any questions, just send me a message. I can also e-mail you some pictures if you want. We just used the resort's photographer and the pictures turned out great.
  7. They set up a "head table" then had two longer tables along both sides. I've included a picture of the setup:
  8. We chose the RTB over the Riu Negril because our TA told us the beach was nicer there....and she was right! We took a walk down to the RN along the beach (we could use their facilities, but guests there aren't suppose to be able to use the RTB facilities)and it was smaller and more crowded. The beach and the water are absolutely beautiful. It is also perfect for walking out. The kids really enjoyed playing in the water as it was clean and shallow. If we wanted to upgrade the cake we could, but since we had an at home reception, I didn't feel the need to spend the money on the cake at that time.
  9. Hi ladies, I was married at the RTB before it was the palace (July 15/0. We had our dinner in the Steakhouse. We didn't rent it out, but we (33 of us) were sort of off to our own anyway away from the other guests. We were married on a Tuesday and there was a beach party that night, so we all changed then went to that. I have a picture of the free cake. I will try to post it. There was enough for us to each have a piece, but don't expect cake like you get at home. It was okay, but nothing exceptional.
  10. I was able to use the temporary marriage certificate that they gave us while we were there to change my license, my health card, and at the bank.
  11. I was married on July 15 and I still haven't received mine either.
  12. Hi, I was in the same position. I teach as well, so we were married in July. It did rain some days but only for a short period, usually around 2-3 p.m. We were married at 4 p.m. and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. I was a bit worried at first as well, but it worked out perfect.
