  1. The beads in the photo above our Deco Beads. We are using them for my reception too! My mom is a florist and I went with her last week to pick up some stuff for our AHR and ended up getting the deco beads. We experimented with then last week and they are so neat!
  2. Yes, A Wedding Story is still on! I used to love that show. When I was in college all of the girls in my dorm used to get together and watch it! The thing is that now I think it is pretty cheesy given all of the other awesome wedding shows on TV!
  3. PenMarie- The Alfred Angelo dress was actually really flattering. I am busty on top so it was nice to find a dress where I wouldn't fall out the top of it! I am 5'3. I was going to order the short version of the dress (for $50.00 more), but I was told that there was a good possibility I would still have to get it shortened more, so I just ordered the regular length. Part of the reason is that my bridal shop included the alterations in the price of the dress. The dress and alterations for $525.00 was an unbelievable price for the dress! Good Luck with your dress shopping!
  4. I am sitting here watching some episodes of Whose Wedding is it Anyway that I recorded on the DVR. I am wondering what other wedding shows are out there. I also like the show, Say Yes to the Dress, on TLC. They follow brides buying dresses at Kleinfelds in New York. I really can't get enough of these wedding shows - I am such a dork! What other wedding shows are out there? Mandy
  5. I am fortunate enough to only be shopping for one MOH dress for my wedding, which made things much easier. We were originally looking for something a little more formal and then decided we would go the fun route. This dress was originally $90.00 at Dillard's, but we found it on the clearance rack for 20 bucks!
  6. Here is my wedding dress on two different models: Here it is from the back. I will be shortening the train.
  7. I also use Bare Minerals. I have used it for about two years and it has really cleared up my skin. I love the way it looks and feels. The best part is that I can sleep in it if I don't get to wash my face before bed and it is perfectly fine on my skin. You may check to see if you have the store Ulta in your area. Ulta is awesome because they sell everything from Covergirl, Maybeline, etc. to the higher end lines like Bare Escentuals, Smashbox, Too Faced, etc. They also have the other mineral lines like Pur Minerals and their own line as well. From time to time they have someone from Bare Minerals come in to their store to help customers with their makeup. I went on Friday and the woman was wonderful. She helped me update my colors and gave me some great tips and tricks. I actually asked her the difference between their product and the cheaper brands. She was saying that you use much less Bare Minerals (one jar of foundation should last 6+ months) than the cheaper brands, so in the end the price is the same. There is no way for me to know if this is true. Of course, she also said the quality of the makeup is much better with Bare Minerals.
  8. I work as a Training Aministrator for an accounting firm in our National Level Training Department. We train around 1000 participants every year in our firm and it is my job to make sure the training goes off from a hitch. I get to seek out hotels for us to have our training, negotiate contracts, arrange for materials printing, plan fun social events and pick tasty food for our participants to eat! I travel about 30% of the time and am out of the office around 60% of the time so I love it! I think I would go stir crazy sitting in an office more than I already do... and that isn't very often. Right now I am particularly loving my job because I am in the process of planning a large meeting for our company at the Bellagio! I love that place!
  9. What a fun idea! I just put a pretty pictures I took at the Bellagio in the Conservatory for my signature. I need to learn to add our names, etc. so mine can be as fancy as all of yours!
  10. I am in the process of working on my invitations. This is what I am planning: Mandy P and Solomon H are happy to announce their marriage on Thursday, the fourth of September Two thousand and eight in a sunset ceremony in La Jolla, California You are joyfully invited to a reception on October 11th at Six Thirty in the evening I am pretty sure I am going the Vista Print Route. Mandy
  11. We are having a party when we get back. Instead of doing it right away we are going to get married on September 4 and have our reception on October 11. We are going to have someone at home mail the wedding announcement/invitation the day after the wedding. This will give about a month for people to return their response card. You would be surprised about the reception venues you can find for the right price. We are having our reception at a golf course clubhouse and their rental fee is $250.00. If you decide to have a tent and heat lamps be prepared for the extra costs. They add up very quickly! Mandy
  12. I am lucky enough to have found a bridal shop that includes the alterations (hemming, taking dress in, etc.) and one bustle with their wedding gowns. It is funny because the dress was $50.00 less than everyone in town and they include the alterations. This should save a bundle! Mandy
