  1. I have been moved to Paridisus also from DT. . Brooke - Congrats!!! I am so glad to hear that you loved it. I spoke to Perla for the first time today and she seems really on top of her game! Thank you all for posting. With less than 2 weeks to go and 150 people notified of the change in hotels, this forum is the only relief!!
  2. There are a few recent postings on Trip Advisor with no mention of the closing! I am extremely confused. Does anyone have an update?
  3. Congratulations Trish! I am so glad to hear that everything worked out for your wedding! I think we will be moved to Paradisus also so it is very comforting to hear everything went as planned! Can't wait for some pictures
  4. I am really starting to worry. I sent my guest list to Sandra and Landy last week and was told they will get back to me the latest Monday with the options for my guests. I have yet to receive anything and my phone calls again go unreturned. I have guests arriving less than 2 weeks! Any recommendations for how I should go about this Aside from drowning myself in a wine glass!
  5. I have 150 attending. We had mesh totes and frisbees made up with our logo. Then we will fill the bag with all beach stuff. Sunscreen, chapstick, after sun lotion, aloe, tylenol etc.
  6. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! Some of our guests booked through Expedia and have been contacted about switching hotels. For those of you who have not yet told your guests, you may receive some calls. I am not sure what to tell them. I thought Dreams was going to re-book all of our guests, regardless of how they booked. I will call tomorrow and post what I find out.
  7. I got that e-mail too! I sent them my list and am hoping they have somewhere to put our whole group together. I have my bachelorette party tomorrow. I don't know how I will keep this from all the girls!
  8. I thought I just posted a response but I do not see it on the thread. Apologies if this gets posted twice. Amy - Thank you SOOO much for posting the reply. I am not sure what to gather - now we are looking at end of October. Considering my wedding is on 11/1 and some guests are arriving as early as Oct 27th, I really don't know what they will do with our group. I did get a call yesterday from Daniel in DT Group Sales Dept, he said they are researching hotels that can accommodate all of my guests (ALL 150!) and needed to know if we had any kids. Of course we have ONE, so that rules out Secrets! I asked if they could make an exception for the one child and he said definitely no. Daniel said that they were getting daily updates from their Legal Dept and that he would call me today with some possible hotels that can hold our group and my wedding preferences. I will let you all know when/if I hear back. Try to have a good day! I am sure we will all laugh at this craziness when it is all over!
  9. My TA's boss happened to be visiting Cancun this week. She was told that they should be opening on 10/16. This date changes everyday! So frustrating!
  10. Melanie Tom & Chris Warner November 1, 2008 Some of our guests are due to arrive on 10/27. We have 150 guests coming to the resort for 4 or more days. We have had no response yet from the resort regarding the closure and the plan for your wedding should the resort not re-open in time.
  11. Thank you so much for the e-mail! I have sent a pretty strongly worded e-mail to this guy pratically begging for a response at a minimum. I was totally fine until last night when I saw that the resort even mentioned October 20th. I have also not told any of our friends and family to avoid all of the calls and frantic rumor mill. I will definitely post his reply. Fingers crossed my e-mail is acknowledged!! THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE FOR KEEPING THIS UP TO DATE. I WOULD HAVE GONE INSANE WITHOUT HAVING THIS FORUM TO SHARE INFO!
  12. I am still waiting to hear back from Landy and Daniel in the Sales Department. I am getting a little freaked out at how unresponsive the resort is being. I have over 150 guests booked - how are they going to relocate everyone
  13. Should I be worried that my TA has no clue about this? Thankfully our photographer sent me an email! I can't believe Landy has not notified anyone!! I am sure Dreams Cancun will do a great job - your weddings are going to be amazing. And what a fun story to tell your grandkids!
  14. Hi ladies. I wanted to post a quick update. I am getting married next month. I have 140 guests booked and I was totally stressing because I was not getting much response from Landy. We decided to take a short trip to check the place out since I was freaking out that nothing would get done in time. I know everyone on here warned that the wedding coordinators were not responsive but in the end they pull off a great wedding... IT IS SO TRUE. We saw two weddings while we were there. We met with Landy - she was so nice - and very helpful. She was way more organized then I expected. She had a binder filled with info for my wedding. The place was gorgeous! Better than we expected! We are so excited... Hope this eases some of your minds!
