We are planning to have tiki torches for our terrace reception. Has anyone seen what these look like? I just wondering if they will be small torches on the tables or tall torches standing at the ends of the tables. Also, what nightlife is there actually at the resort. Is there music and dancing on the resort property or would we need to leave the resort for such entertainment? And if so, is that safe?

Does anyone know of a videographer in Cancun who does 8mm wedding videos? I have my heart set on having a video done in that fashion.

We are planning to go to the JP only about two days before our departure for Cancun. To make our ceremony more special we will not make it common knowledge to all of our guest nor will we consummate or marriage until after the ceremony in Mexico.

Wow, I finally read through this whole thread. I am so happy there is a forum like this. Most of my questions have been answered by the brides-to-be on this forum. At this point we are only having an appetizer/cocktail hour after our ceremony, but I have been going back and forth between wanting to have it on the beach or the terrace. I have been reading what everyone has to say about ALL of the options at the resort. Does anyone have pics of the terrace all "dressed up"? I've only received one pic and it wasn't prepped for a reception or anything. Also, is there a club/disco where we could continue our party after the cocktail hour?

A question about the wedding packages... I know the basic (complimentary) package is valued at $699. Does anyone know if you upgrade to a hiigher package do they discount those by the price of the complimentary package?

Aaaah!! You don't know if she's even going?! Okay, I may have a tendency to get emotional quickly, but this calls for emotion. That's just more stress than you should have to deal with when planning a wedding. I would say a decision definately needs to be made right away. I don't like confrontation either so, one way of handling things is to have a discussion with her and somehow ask her is she is feeling overwelmed and maybe would like to hand the job over to someone else. Kind of make it her idea. Afterall, it doesn't sound like she's enjoying herself either.

I have not introduced myself properly I guess. I'm Kim (nickname's Mickie. I answer to both). I just got engaged in May and we are now talking with our TA about an April wedding at Dreams in Cancun. It's all just a little overwelming. This will be a second wedding for both of us (finally getting it right) so, we're not doing a huge wedding, but just wanted to put more emphasis on the trip/honeymoon part of a wedding. I will definately be checking in with you all for tips throughout this process. It's nice to meet everyone.
