Discountmugs.com -- Travel Mug Redo

Recommended Posts

I have had a similiar problem with discountmugs, however they are not going to replace the mugs for me, which I think is a bunch of crap. Each mug has a different size of imprint area, which I neglected to pay attention to. It happens to be the mug that I selected has an imprint area of h-1" w-2", but since my logo is square it looks really small and some of the writing you can barely read. So for future brides, my advice is to play close attention to the product ordered and the size of your design. I was really disappointed because I felt that someone in their "design team" should recognize when something doesn't look right and notify the client. I still plan on giving my mugs, but am extremely disappointed with the product after paying that much money for something, but it is partially my fault for not paying closer attention to the fine print.

April, I don't think yours looks too bad - but trust me I totally understand your frustration. They really should have someone in the review process contact customers if there is an obvious issue with sizing. And it is tough to figure out the actual dimensions the way they put the information on their website (well, it was when I ordered mine, but perhaps they've updated it since then).

You will still be good to go with your mugs - but pay attention to see if the imprint comes off if you use them in the pool.

My initial order was fine, but all the printin came off in the pool water with the mugs they redid for me.

Oh no! We just go our mugs from them and our logo is much smaller than we expected it to be too. Also, we have a circle around our logo, and on the mugs it came out shaped a little wonky. We've contacted them with photos and our complaints and haven't heard back from them yet! I guess we'll have to lean on them a little bit. But now I've checked out the other thread about the printing rubbing off, and now I'm really worried... I wish it weren't fall and yucky and rainy here because I would do a test. I definitely want to return them if the logos don't stay on...

We ALSO had an issue with discountmugs.com. They sent us a proof with our original mug choice, which was basically just our monogram sent back to us in black and white. We than asked for a virtual proof so we could see the size of the monogram in relation to the mug. They told us that the imprint area was so small on our original mugs that we probably wouldn't be able to read it. WTF, um, yea, that's why we were spending $250 on personalized mugs, so the guests couldn't read them. So than they made a suggestion for a different mug, which did not have a handle, but we went with it bc it was more important to have the logo. So we approved the proof after going back and forth for 10 days. So we get the mugs in the mail, and they are our original mugs! Did we NOT just have an ongoing convo for a week and a half? Luckily we pushed back on them, and they sent the new mugs out. We were fortunate bc both mugs actually look really great, and we are going to do half and half. I am worried about the mugs w/o the handles though..after hearing so many monograms peeling off, we are going to warn the guests to try to hold by the bottom and not in the pool! It's amazing how many issues everyone has had with discountmugs!

I have had a similar problem with discount mugs as well. I got mine last week and the logo is quite small. I guess it is my fault for not paying attention to the printing area dimensions, but it's still frustrating!

On the bright side, I have a tip to share with you.. We are travelling with a group of 30 so I was worried of people not knowing which mugs were theirs. I wrote my guests names with a silver sharpie pen on the bottom of each mug so they can tell them a part!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
