Anyone know if there are customs issues in Cabohuh.gif For example bringing your own tealights, decor, etc.......... I want to make sure I can bring this kind of stuff into the country without them taking it away, going to jail, etc........!!!!!!! Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated, thanx.

I think there are some other threads on this ... let me see if I can find them ...

In the meantime, I believe most girls haven't had any problems. I think some have put notices in their luggage that say in spanish something to the effect of "These items are for my wedding and not for sale!" ...

Also, most people recommend bringing everything with you rather than shipping them ... apparently, things can go missing if you try to mail them ahead ...

I'll post the other threads as soon as I can find them! :)

The only item had confinscated was freeze dried rose petals. My candles and other decor made it through safely.

They also reviewed my receipts to make sure I was under the declaration limit. So bring your receipts and if you are bringing items worth over $300 ( i think it was $300) try having the stuff divided between a few people and give them the corrosponding receipts.

Some gals didn't have a single issue...I got stopped after they x-rayed my bag and saw all my stuff.

They do xray every bag on the way in, so if you have several multiples of one thing, be prepared to get searched. For me it was the 80 pairs of flip flops that did it. Just have your receipts and don't go over $300 pp.

I've also heard (from my WC) that they do not like things coming in from China. Take off all the tags, stickers, etc.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
