Dreams Riviera Cancun 2016!

@@desmiv wow!! I'm so sorry to hear about your site visit :(!!!ugh that truly would make me nervous as well. But im glad that things worked out well with the WC that it made you want to stick with the resort. I have read about the storm that's been passing through there as of late and the crazy amount of seaweed that has been piling up. :/ But nothing we can personally blame the resort for that when mother nature has her own plans.

Before i stuck with the resort i first made sure to do my research on their back up rain locations. And I liked the back up ceremony area and also loved the ballroom so that made me feel much better about possible rain day.

Im honestly shocked about the flowers. Because Ive some past brides to have used fake flowers at the resort. Did your WC stated no fake rose petals because they can pollute the beach and water? or just fake flowers in general for bouquets and centerpieces?? Im not planning to use fake flowers by i did go back to review all the paperwork that was sent to me  for the confirmation /contract.. and there is no statement of fake flowers allowed on resort grounds other than fake rose petals. Do you mind sharing the WC comments on that?  I know they want to attempt  to avoid losing profit on most things but i don't see how they can state no one can have fake flowers i doubt they will walk around and remove everyone's bouquet or something the day of the wedding lol that would be insane.

Hi ladies, the explanation she gave me was that it would be in photos and if someone saw those photos they would think that's what the resort offers and it would give them a bad reputation. She made the statement for all flowers not just rose petals. Very lame reason I felt. Especially since you are not allowed real candles.

@@racht33, exactly! You can't do anything about mother nature, but I would really rather it not be raining like that on our day. lol

@@desmiv I just finished speaking with Marie a different WC and she stated to me...that if the flowers are being held. Or they are tied up and used as centerpieces etc there isnt a problem with " silk flowers" they are just afraid of the lose petals so they dont fly away into the ocean etc. as the contract states.  I know ive read of brides bringing their own bouquets since we aren't allowed to bring the flowers back from MX. they have them as keepsakes from their wedding day. So in all i believe she really just wanted to implant this idea of NO OTHER FLOWER OPTION so you would be obligated to go with them for flowers. Stinks for them when we have forums like this where we can speak to one another.

Anyone deciding to go with the Buffet for their wedding? Im receiving conflicting information.... Im being told there is no additional charge for a buffet other than the additional per person over the 20 guests included in the package., and Im also being told its 110 per person for buffet.. can someone clarify this if possible? I know this forum has not been active at all ... but hopefully someone is out there starting their budget planner.

@@racht33 Claudia, my WC, told me during my site visit that the cost would be $110 over the 20 and the difference between the pkg you paid for and the $110 for the 20 included in the pkg. She hasn't sent me my updated budget sheet yet, but I will confirm as soon as she sends it to me. I've been hearing different stories as well...

@@desmiv i received the new budget planner last night and it does confirm what Claudia and David both stated the differantce3 must be paid to add up to the 110 for the 20 in the package and everyone else is 110 for buffet. WOW !! I guess we decided to get married in the wrong year. All past brides didn't have to pay the additional amount for the buffet dinner. They just had to pay the original price after the 20 guest and select plated or buffet.  We will have to opt out of the buffet and have to select what everyone eats :/ ...

@@BeachBride2016 i received an updated one last night from David. after i thought I completely understood what was going on after my phone call with him. I spoke to a few brides today and we are all confused all over again.. haha... Using Dreams of Love package for example..

It states anyone additional over the 20 in the package is 83 dollars for the silver menu. Then a few cells under that.. it states to upgrade the silver menu to buffet its 27 dollars and that also needs to be added to the 20 people in the package. So we all presumed ok 83 +27 that's buffet price for additional 20 guest on package... But David stated it was 110 for the buffet. and there is a cell completely on its own for Buffet at 110.So we aren't sure if that 110 charge is also includes the same as the 83 charge where it has everything added to it.. cocktail hour, dinner, champagne etc. Or its just buffet.  AHHH  So we are back to square one of confusion LOL

Ok, so I just looked at this and it makes sense now. The pricing of $83.00 for over 20 ppl is the price of just the regular silver menu. If you noticed in the upgrade section for the 20 ppl included in your package to upgrade to Buffet it is an additional $27 (83+27=$110), so it would make sense that any extra persons would be the $110 for the buffet. Not that I agree with the pricing tier what so ever, just that I see how it is calculated now.

Hope that helps...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
