Does Number Of Guests Matter For All Inclusive?

@@vancouverpetunia  I'm glad i'm not the only one who didn't get the whole additional pay concept. BUT $94 PP is Toronto prices!!! I can't believe they would charge you that much! Where are planning your wedding?

We are at Now Sapphire in the Riviera Maya. Now Jade has about the same pricing. Honestly, I looked at lots of resorts and most of them were similar in terms of the total price I was looking at. Yeah, some were less per person for additional people, but then they had packages that didn't include very much so you would be paying extra for other things. And there were quite a few that were charging between $75 - $100 for additional people for dinner.

@@Ruzanna I agree with what all the ladies have said so far. It really depends on the resort and package you choose. My fiancé and I were budgeting for 60 people when we first started planning our DW. I was very frustrated that a lot of the places we liked only had packages for groups up to 25-30 people. Like @@vancouverpetunia said the additional person charges ranged from $80+ per person (in the ones we researched anyway). I thought that was really crazy especially when we were expected double the amount of people those packages are built for. Plus for us a lot of what was included in those packages weren't necessary for us. I can see them working really well if you have a smaller group and you want things like a champagne toast. My cousin had a DW 2 years ago that they only had 30 people and so all the packages fit perfectly for them. The price was sky rocketing as we started pricing it out…then we found the Karisma properties. While they do over charge for A LOT of other things (flowers, outside vendor fees etc) we found that building our wedding a la carte worked much better for our group size and ended up saving us money compared to the initial packages we researched.

We were trying to keep our ceremony & reception to $6000 or less and that seemed impossible with a group of 60 at a resort like the Barcelo properties. Keep in mind we wanted a private reception and the only location stipulation was that it wasn't in a hall/ballroom. At Azul Fives (the property we ended up choosing) so far we're at $4100 with our guest count being at 53 - this includes ceremony, private reception, partial decor, food, open bar, sound system (we opted not to have a DJ) and an outside vendor fee (for our photographer). With photography we're at $5200 - so far staying within our budget. It also comes with a couple of other perks that weren't a necessity for us but are a nice bonus like a semi-private rehearsal dinner, wifi (for the bride and groom), a groom's room to get ready (with gourmet bites), 2 for 1 massages, 15% discount at the spa, honeymoon breakfast in bed, candlelit dinner for 2 on the beach and a couple of other small things. Azul Fives is a great fit for us but may not be for others. Take your time to really look into all your options and find the resort that best suits your needs!

I hope that helps a bit! Happy planning! :)

It is so hard to compare when one resort includes 20 people and the other includes 30 and they charge for kids or this one includes alcohol!!

I created folders for each resort and then did a spreadsheet for what they each included and ranked them in order of my preference and eventually that helped narrow down. I dont loveee everything included in the Moon Palace package but it seems to be the best fit for what we were looking for (family oriented resort, party atmosphere, adults only side, great food, private ceremony, etc)

@@Ruzanna if it helps my invite to attendee ratio is about the same as @@snswedding2016. We invited about 140 (including plus 1s) and we have 65 adults attending. Based on verbal RSVPs we thought we might get up to 80 - and were terrified about the budget - but a lot of those didn't pan out and we ended up at 65.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
