Beach Ceremony With Restaurant Dinner

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any experience just paying for a symbolic public beach ceremony minister and then hosting a after wedding dinner and drinks at a restaurant or at a club in Playa? I'm pretty simple and am starting to feel that the resort packages are exceeding my simple wants.

I have received many quotes on this. You might want to check out Wickys. It's semi private, but they close off a part of the restaurant for you. There's also indigo beach club. It's small and. Closes at 5 or 6 pm. You can't go off of what they offer on menu you have to contact them. Email, see what your options are.

Most all beaches are public. You can marry on any beach you want and don't need to pay a zofe fee as long as there are no chairs or alter set up. Meaning everyone would have to stand.

If you use the same beach as your beach club like Wickys or indigo I think you can set up shop until like 2 am on the beach with tables abs chairs and not pay the zofe fee bc your using their beach area and they already have permits for chairs and stuff to be on the beach.

But just picking a random beach site and setting up the zofe permit fee is like 500.

Where we are marrying we aren't paying any fees. We are marrying at Kool Beach Club.

We only have to buy our food and alcohol (optional) and there's no other fees. We are having all vendors there and it's private. I'm customizing everything at a fraction of the cost and getting privacy. What more do you need?

Plus everyone is in charge of choosing where they want to stay, which frees up my stress and allows ppl to stick to their budget,

I looked at so many hotel packages and not a single one was for me. I could not afford what I really wanted.

Good luck! And let me know if you have any ?

Hey WiscoBride,

We are wedding planners in the Riviera Maya, and must say there are plenty of places in playa you could choose from as LisaAnthonyPoppy has mentioned a few.  it really just depends on what you are looking to pay.

it is very important before you choose a restaurant to find out if they have the permits or not in order for you to have the ceremony on the beach.   the Zofamat fee (federal fee for using the beach is required to be paid on any public beach with or without a gazebo.

Feel free to reach out and we will be happy to help!

It was my understanding that without chairs or (gazebo is only one example) basically any structure placed on the beach you did not need a permit.

Lisa, in the RivieraMaya you do need  to pay for the zofamat (usage of the beach in order to have your ceremony on the beach) unless your location is paying for :)

always a pleasure to clarify things thats why we are here.

Happy Planning!

@@WiscoBride We're doing our vow renewal this October at Azul Fives and paying for the ceremony there, then going into Playa del Carmen to a restaurant for cocktails and dinner. Thanks to @@dreamweddings who are helping me with all the details, Joyce gave me a couple of restaurant options to consider and it has worked out perfectly for us. We're a super small group so it didn't make sense to pay for all of the extra stuff through the resort. Not for 8 people. I don't want a beach for anything except sunbathing so that wasn't an option for us. We have the terrace at AF that has a view of the water so that's pretty enough.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
