Uk Riveria Maya Bride Docs Translation?

Recommended Posts

Hi I am getting married this August in Mexico and am getting a little confused about what we need translating and by who? Is it just both birth certificates to be translated then legalised?

Has anyone idea of prices? I have received a quote for £375 for both.

Many thanks!

Hello Emma,

I am assuming that you will be having a civil ceremony:

here are the requirements for a legal ceremony in mexico.

Copy of the passport and tourist card ( its issued at the airport)
Divorce papers if applicable
Blood test for HIV and Health Certificate must be done in mexico within 7 days before the wedding
4 witnesses must be over 18 and be present for the ceremony in order to sign the marriage certificate (we need their passport copies)
Completed application form ( we can fill that out for you)
the ceremony can be performed both in english or spanish

Once Legally married, you will receive a certificate, but the legal act called Acta de Matrimonio, will be send to Chetumal the capital of the State in order to be annotated.
Once we receive the authorized copy we will send it to you via DHL
Usually takes 3 weeks maximum.

As a couple and your witnesses are obligated to be 4 working days in mexico before the wedding

The ceremony takes about 20 minutes maximum. if you need us to get you the 4 witnesses this will have an additional cost.

Hope this helps!

Happy Planning
Joyce

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
