For the people out there that got married and brought your kids, how did you do this for the wedding night? Did you have someone else watch your kids in your group, pay for a babysitter?

I plan to reply to your vent when I'm on my pc as I can't text well hehe

I have kids - 9 year old twins. My daughter stayed with my sister/aunt when we were at the spa and they got her back to the room about an hour before the ceremony for me to get her ready. My son stayed with my husband (he is not their dad) all day.

At the ceremony and reception everyone looked out for them. There was 1 other kid and 2 teenagers. Ultimately husband's mom was in charge and when they were tuckered out she brought them to bed for the night.

The next day everyone watched over them for us so we could have quiet time alone. All week everyone helped everyone.

Thanks @@calgarybride2015

Sorry for the vent, it just feels very stressful being away from family and friends and planning and coordinating with not much help. And there isn't mich that anyone can do really being so far away. I thought a destination wedding would be less stressful but I don't think so at all. These past two months have been Ampt up with appointments, emails, verifications, payments. It's just much more busier now that's it's getting closer.

My family and friends have helped somewhat with what they could but the other side didn't offer any help either which I find offends me just a little.

Anyway on a positive note, I brought my second dress in today for alterations and she will call me next week sometime to come in and try it on and have at look at what she has done so far to see if anything else is needed. Was so happy that turned out good.

Oh I should update on my eyelash extensions, love them. I have to say I thought I would find them heavy, that I would notice that something was weighing on my kids but not the case at all. Doesn't even bother me and what a world of difference having some lashes makes. It's a shame that they are such high maintenance because if they weren't i would def. do it all the time. But I am just getting one more fill before the wedding and then I will just not continue. It's going to look strange going back to my old dull lashes but I just wouldn't be able to maintain eye lash extensions. It's going to be so nice to have them on for the film week I am down south and not have to worry about mascara though. I would recommend any bride get these especially for a destination wedding.

Hahaha sorry I noticed I said there weighing on my kids, I meant lids hahahaha

Ok so I don't know if I am having bridezilla moments or if people just want to drive me crazy.  You tell me.

God, where do I start with this. I have so much anger now I can't even type.

Anyway you probably all know, and seen me vent about this before, that we chose a kid friendly resort because that's what my fiancés parents thought was best and they got a little sooky over the fact we were even considering an adult only resort. So what did we do? Chose a kid friendly resort.

PLEASE PEOPLE WITH KIDS DON"T BE OFFENDED BY MY POST HERE TODAY

Anyway, we also decided to do ziplining two days before the wedding. We asked everyone to see if they would be interested. I figure this would be our stag/stagette kind of thing since we aren't having one before we go and then we can separate after the fact. Ok so my fiancés sisters can't go because of the kids. (One of his sisters is standing btw). Why can't the mother watch them (it's been done before). And the mother isn't going.

Anyway, something else, we have La Barcaza booked for our reception from 5-8 like I have stated already in this thread. I would like to extend it for another hour just because a lot of brides said by the time you do cutting of cake, eat, and first dances it goes by pretty quick. A lot of people I have seen on forum's and Facebook groups have said this. Anyway mentioned it to the fiancé, he loves the idea of the boat, but thinks extending it is not a good idea just because of his mother probably not wanting to be out there too long and because of the kids needing to go back and get to bed. When I spoke to his mother months back I mentioned that there is an option to extend the boat if we wanted. And she said "well I don't know if that's a good idea with the kids being there and all."

Also, Something else that happened today. Krystie Ann is who I have for hair and makeup so she emailed me today with the timelines of that morning. She has me slotted in for the time and left all other spaces empty. She also put had helpful tips in the email so I forwarded it to the girls in the bridal party (fiancés sister is one like I mentioned). She emailed back right away and said I will pick the later time next to you. She said "make a mental note of that because you know I won't be there any earlier than that." Like seriously? So I wrote her back and said "you guys can figure that out amongst yourself when you get there." She emailed back "well I don't think I will be there any earlier just because I have to get my son ready.

Like I don't have kids but couldn't she go to the earliest appointment and then get her son ready after she is done. So she obviously isn't going to be there with us while we all get ready. She is just coming long enough, by the sounds of it, to get her hair brushed and go on again.

Like seriously girls, do some of you feel like planning this wedding has been to make it other peoples day? Why do it feel like it's not only mine and my fiancé's day. Like what do you do? Do you accommodate around the kids? Like am I being crazy?

URGH I just had to vent and need feedback because if my hands shake anymore than they are I will need a cast to keep them still. I am at work right now and don't even want to work because I am so angry.

I have kids and you didn't offend me whatsoever.  This has nothing to do with kids, it's more her inability to be flexible and juggle obligations -- if she wanted to do it she could and would. I don't mean that to sound harsh or offend you - trust me I use my kids as excuses at times, but I do know I can work things out if need be.

Does she have her mother there? or an aunt or cousin or?   There is someone there who can take care of her son.  Also, I think her boyfriend should be able to as well.  If she has chosen this man to be around her children, then she should find him responsible enough to care for her son or quite frankly why are they dating? haha I know that sounds harsh and possibly for another type of discussion, but it's true!

With respect to her hair appt. I think all you can do is suggest how important it is to you that she be there for the getting ready - maybe suggest people who could watch her son for her, or try to help her with a timeline suggestion. If she won't budge I guess there is nothing you can do.

With respect to the reception - this is YOUR call and noone else's. Trust me, kids can stay up late one night for a wedding and like the @@TinkerSofi said they can sleep there.  We slept at parties too and so do my kids - they adapt. It's not the end of the world.   She said a lot that made me lol because it was so true from my childhood!

And in closing LOL  kid's don't take long to get ready, especially a boy without hair to do.  I think my daughter took about 10 mins TOPS!  most was her hair, throwing on her dress took 30 seconds.  But a baby may take a bit longer as she physically has to dress them herself.

EDIT:  Read it again, I probably wouldn't leave my kids all day to go on an excursion. I had no issues having my family watch over them the day after our wedding but I was on site if something went wrong.  I know that a lot of my family would do it, no questions asked, but that one would be a lot for me to ask.  Would depend on the situation though.  If I had to go offiste as a wedding obligation (not an extra) or what have you - yes, but just for an excursion I probably would politely decline as well.   Just another perspective for you.  But wedding day obligations- she should be all in.

Thanks for all your input @@calgarybride2015. I total get the excursion thing and not wanting to do it because it's outside the wedding day, I just added that in there as an example of the fuss of them not wanting to be part of anything...lol

I am a little bit calmer today because my sister told me to stop stressing over the things I have no control over. I can't force or expect people to do things and they will do it if/when they want to ex: appointment times for hair etc. My intention is to not let anyone ruin the week I have there with friends and family. Right now though I guess with everything on my plate and like his sister (another sister and not the one standing) just randomly texts me yesterday no hello or nothing just "you know what's really stressful? trying to find a dress for your wedding." I was fuming at this point and felt like texting back "not my problem, your fault for not looking around, like you found out about this wedding like almost 2 years ago, you didn't come across any summer dresses in that time?" Like really.....lol

OH my the stuff we have to deal with.

I can't wait!  this makes me even more excited to get it done.  I already have somewhat long eyelashes but I liked the idea of not having to wear mascara while on vacay and a more dramatic look for the pictures.

They have this bombshell package that is $200 and of course that's the package that caught my attention.  I'm probably going to get the more natural fill which will just enhance the look I already have. so exciting!

that's so funny about your selfies.  I could see myself doing that too.  I think it's the perfect feel-good boost!  ;)

have you thought about getting your eyelashes tinted? I have pretty long eyelashes too and don't need much volume so I was considering just tinting them. It looks like you have mascara on all the time and it won't damage your eyelashes like extensions. Then I'll probably get fake ones for the wedding day.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
