Bahia Principe Akumal Luxury Rebrand?

Does anyone have any information on how this will affect how weddings are done at the resort? Everything I've seen on here from before said that if you stayed at Coba you could use the ceremony sites and restaurants from either of the other two resorts. With the luxury rebrand did that mean that if I wanted to go to Coba I couldn't have my ceremony at the hammocks site anymore? I haven't booked yet so I'm unable to get info from the resort.

I believe you are able to use the sites but I would check. Also, you can get info from the resort, they will email you back with information, no problem. On the official bahia thread, email Poloma or one of the other ladies, they usually get back to you within a few days. Hope it works out for you, we LOVE Coba and have stayed there 3 times, switched over to Akumal for our wedding and for a change this time.

@ I shot them an email 2-3 weeks back at the main email on the website inquiring about 2015 weddings, but I haven't heard anything back. I guess I'll have to wait until I go see a travel agent and show them what I was planning and see if it can still be done, or if they can find me a comparable site somewhere else.

Update: I received an email that the ceremony site would still be available, but you would have to have your reception and dinner back in Tulum/Coba. I've contacted a travel agent who will hopefully be able to confirm this.

About your request, up today I'm pleased to tell you the Akumal Location will be available for all the weddings of the resort, included Coba and Tulum...
