2016 Help With Dw!

Hi everyone!

SK bride! Marrying an AirForce man and we have moved out East to NS. We got engaged this past Christmas (our first without any family - he wanted it to be special since it was just the two of us shortly after our move here).

Since all our family and most of our friends are back in SK, we are going to do destination in Jamaica. Originally we wanted to do January 2015, but he is being deployed in a couple months for quite a while so we are delaying to 2016.

Any suggestions for resorts in Jamaica? I'm having the toughest time choosing.

30-40 guests. 2 children under the age of 6. Looking for something not too crazy busy, but prefer a 4 - 5 star.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys and hearing your suggestions! :0)

I know nothing about what goes into a destination wedding as I have never even been to one.

Firstly congratulations on your engagement!! I'm getting married in Jamaica too!!! I'd suggest Grand palladium, in Montego bay, Riu tropical bay Negril , Rockhouse hotel in Negril, or club hotel riu in Ocho Rios :-) they are all 4/5 star resorts, not sure if they all allow kids though.... good luck and happy planning :-)

Congrats on your engagement!

We got engaged in Jamaica and it was the most beautiful, peaceful and exciting vacation we have ever experienced. We stayed at the Royal Caribbean, a Sandals resorts...unfortunately its an adult only resort so we couldn't go back there to get married.

You will have an amazing time and I will check back in on the post to see where you decide! I would love to go back there with the kids one day =0)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
