Well I went to Jamaica once in June and another time in August. yes its the start of hurricane season, but as you know, you never can really predict the weather!  When I was there during these months it would rain for a bit almost everyday, but only for about 15-20 minutes then it would clear up and be beautiful! Last time when I went in August though, we did leave the day before an actual hurricane hit and did some damage to the resort we stayed at! So there is always the possibility of severe weather, although you can't know for sure. My mom is a travel agent and she also goes to Jamaica every year. They usually go in Nov and there is little to no rain and she told me my best chances for no rain on my wedding would be Nov-May. So, we chose an early May wedding. Of course we are never guaranteed so we could see some of that rain too! Happy Planning!

I got married in Jamaica in October and we were concerned about hurricanes. We were told that Jamaica hardly ever gets hit! lol At least that's what the Jamaican's like to say! In a way, they're almost right lol With the general track of most hurricanes they don't often hit Jamaica. With wind patterns and so on. most of the time they miss them. Yes - June is the start of hurricane season but hurricanes are dependent on a lot of conditions and if you look at past seasons, it's unusual for hurricanes to really get up and fired in June. That's not to say they don't but your peak hurricane times are usually August and September. We had friends that refused to go with us for our wedding in October because they were worried about a hurricane and we had one day out of our entire week that we had a little bit of rain for about half an hour. I can't see that you will have a serious concern about a hurricane for a June wedding. You could always talk to your travel agent and ask them right up front what happens if the flights don't go due to weather for your wedding. And get it in writing!!

Good luck and happy planning!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
