What Does A Reception In Playa Del Carmen/riviera Maya Area Cost?

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I am trying to have a Catholic wedding in Cancun, Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen or Tulum.  I do not have to do it at a resort.  I saw only a few hotels have the Catholic chapels.  I was thinking of maybe doing the wedding in a chapel or church and then having the reception at a club or restaurant.  Has anyone done or looked into this?  I know it would depend on various things.  I believe we will have about 20-30 guests.  I do want a nice atmosphere and I'd like the reception to be near or on the ocean.  At the same time, I do not have $6,000.00 to throw a wedding for such few guests.  Any thoughts?

I saw Xcaret also holds weddings and receptions.  Does anyone know their costs and if their receptions are private?  I've been there before and the place was a zoo.  So many people.  I'm fine with others being able to view the ceremony, but I do not want the reception to be an open buffet that we share with 100 other people.

Thanks!

Hello. Check out Moon Palace. They have a chapel and do complementary weddings for up to 30 people. You can do the ceremony/reception on the beach if you choose.

I read that weddings at Xcaret cost over $20,000.

Hope this helps :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
