Catholic Wedding Ceremony In Playa Del Carmen

Recommended Posts

Hello! My SIL got married in Playa del Carmen, she said there is only one Catholic church in the area. Your local priest at your church can help you with the details and the arrangements, she said they went through their local priest, had to go to marriage classes and go through all the traditional steps first. Also the ceremony and all paperwork was in Spanish. That's all the info I have for you, sorry I don't have more, hopefully it's a little helpful to you!

In Playa del Carmen the most "famous" chapel is Capilla de Nuestra Señora del Carmen. Your best bet is to work with a wedding coordinator who knows the ins and outs of working with the parrish and who can assist with details such as decor, etc.. (Have a look at all our Del Sol Photography Riviera Maya church weddings).

Here are a few of our photos from the church...

You can see more in our gallery .

Other options that are outside of Playa del Carmen include Amarte Maroma, Xcaret Park and Capilla de Santa Maria del Secreto.

Happy planning!

Hi I am interested in having a church wedding that can fit 50-75 people comfortably. A church with AC is a must. Is there a church/chapel in playa del Carmen that can make this possible?

Hello hanaefaith,

we are wedding coordinators in Playa del Carmen. We can certainly help you with the church.

See the link with one of our recent weddings at the church:

There are 3 Catholic Churches in Playa del Carmen that I would reccommend.

5th Avenue

15th Ave and 12th Street

And...if you are REALLY looking for a big beautiful Catholic Church there is one in the more local area of Playa but gorgeous and BIG!

Let me know if you need any assistance and I will be happy to help. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
