Considering Xcaret Eco Park For 2014 Wedding

Recommended Posts

Hello brides,

This is my first post here on BDW! I have come across a dilemma and am in desperate need of your opinions and advice. I have fallen in love with photos that I have seen of weddings taking place at Xcaret eco park. Although I went to Mexico last month for sight inspections I didn't visit the park as at that time I was not considering it for the wedding. During the site inspection we settled on Moon Palace for a late December, 2014 wedding. However, seeing the photos now I am very strongly considering changing everything (we haven't signed any contracts yet) and having the wedding at the park instead. My two caveats are that I don't like the Occidental Grand Xcaret connected to the park and would need to a find a different hotel that's located nearby, and I would need a Jewish ceremony to take place at the park and being that the park is famous for its chapel I don't know if it's possible. However, I did some research and have come across the Ponds location which I think might work for a Jewish ceremony.

If anyone has any insights could you please share your thoughts on this? Is it worth having the wedding at Xcaret? Would it still be beautiful if we had the ceremony at the ponds (all of the videos and photos that I've seen were from the chapel)? Has anyone seen the ponds location and can shed some light on it? Also, I don't even know whether or not it is possible to have a Jewish ceremony at this park so would love some insights on this as well. Lastly, if anyone can suggest a hotel that's conveniently located and is nice I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!!!

i love xcaret however, the prices are very high. Also considering the distance that will take my guests to get there i did not go for it. I strngly recommend you contact them and ask for the prices and what it includes ( i did my math and it would cost mor ethan double whats costing me now)

The park is beautiful! but you need to consider whats a priority for you.

good luck!

I too really wanted Xcaret, but after getting a quote from them it was just priced too outragious for me. Over $22,000 for just the reception!

Also, Occidental Xcaret would not be my choice for a resort :/ If you are going to do the wedding at Xcaret, I would look into another resort in that area that is a little nicer.

Hey MBK,

As wedding planners in the Riviera Maya we definitely agree with everyone, Xcaret is a beautiful location.

Other option would be to have only the ceremony there and take your reception at a nearer location.

We actually have a bride who is doing that in May this year!

If you may have any more questions, shoot us an email and we will be happy to help !

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
