How do I get my Welcome Bag items to Mexico?!

stressed about how to get my items to Mexico.  I have read some many different posts but some seem to be from years ago.  Need advice from recent brides who had approximately 50 welcome bags.  I know my items total more than $300.  UGH!  How do I get it all there?    I am traveling ahead of everyone to meet my planner and get settled.  I planned on making my bags and having it ready before everyone else arrives the next day.  Any suggestions?

Congrats happy bride2013 on your upcoming Mexican wedding!!! would your gift bags and items fit into a suitcase or 2 if they were disassembled? that could be one option, even if you need to pay for the additional piece of checked luggage ......and if customs asks, just explain they are gifts for your wedding guests.

Wishing you all the best with your adventure......cheers!

Do they total more than $300 EACH? Because as far as I know (someone correct me if I am wrong) the limit is $300 per person, so that would mean that both you and your FI would have $300 allowed... $600 total...

I have the same question!! I'll have about 40-50 bags as well and the only option I have come up with is to have everything disassembled and got into one suitcase. I am arriving the same day as my guests so I am going to get help and assemble them all and give out at our welcome dinner. I have heard you can ship everything out in boxes but this can probably become very expensive unless you know someone that works in the courier business. Good luck and let me know what you decide!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
