Recommended Posts

No worries, ask away! lol Luckily we have 3 hairdressers coming away with us, one of the girls is doing mine and my bridesmaids hair of the morning and i go for my first hair trial at the end of the month! I'm constantly reading the reviews but its also a bit worrying for our guests reading them too! i just dont want anyone to be disappointed with the place as we loved it there a couple of years ago, our friends and family are pretty easy going anyway and im sure they'll love it, fingers crossed anyway!!! how excited about your dress, i've got mine too, needs to be taken up in september and thats it! Im in two minds what to do with the dress after, sell it on ebay or keep it in the loft where it will be stored away for years?!? have you thought about that yet? Nic x

Hi there ladies, Just to let you know I have got an email off my wedding co ordinator stating that centre pieces for wedding can cost between $45-$135 for each table just to let you know and tbh they arent all that for the money. Think im going to bring my own, seen some plastic vases on ebay we can pack as only have four tables anyway and fill them with feathers or artificial flowers and some candles on the table. I also saw another post about fees for people coming into the hotel, apparently we have to pay $80 for who ever we want in the hotel (i was aware of guests) photographer, steel band and dj etc you also have to pay for. I've just replied to that thread though to double check with fellow GP brides to find out, will let you know. Chat soon!

Gosh!! Thanks for the info, I didn't know would have just assumed it was included in the package. They are cheeky! Think I will prob do the same and bring my own. Took your tip for the bouquets and ordered them online, they arrived last week and are amazing you wouldn't tell them from real flowers.. Went with a website called silk blooms as they had colours matching my bridesmaids...you may want to check the website out as they have centrepieces & table decorations too. I'm thinking of getting a dj in from outside going to get some quotes so thanks for the info re.80 dollar fee. I had the blue lagoon confirmed for the reception now yay! How is the rest of everyone's planning going? Xxx

Hi Vic, I have 4 months to go, still have loads to do or so it feels!!! We actually went to the solicitors in Feb to get our birth certifictaes notorised but since then my other half has called thompsons and they say you need to get done no longer than 6 months before, so we think we done ours too early, if that makes sense and we were told by our wedding co ordinator that its only birth certs that need to be stamped and notorised not passports but thompsons tell us different. We went to the solicitors again yesterday and luckily they are not going to charge us again for stamping and notorizing thank god but will for passports, think he said around £150 for the both of ours to be done, we're getting both passports and birth certs done just to be on the safe side anyway! had a mare with my bridesmaid dresses, ordered two from diydresses.co.uk on two seperate occasions and there both difefrent colours of orange and different material etc and basically they are not going to give me a refund, so I have lost over £200 of my money and have two dresses that i cant use! Luckily i think what im going to do is use my sisters briedsmaid dresses from her wedding last year as they are good quality and havent been used since her wedding, even though its a different colour than first intended (hers is buttercup yellow) i can still use bright orange in the girls flowers along with white and yellow and keep my orange favours, table decs etc! need to sort mens suits and flowers thats my major concern atm. My other half wants a stone colour suit, well he just wants trousers and waistcoat (same colour) and the best man and dads in jacket and trousers (this was only because my dad insisted he gave me away in a jacket, as he said he wouldnt look smart, fair do's). Anyway I have looked everyhwhere for stone coloured suits but cant find any at a reasonable price, have you any ideas?? Hope your all well! Nic xxx

I think ive seen some in debenhams!!

So am i right in saying if we are getting married in april i dont need to send docs off untill at least nov?

I sent off my passport for renewal yesterday (gutted to have to pay for a new one now and then again once we are married) and am waiting for photographer to come back to me with a price.

I had a bit of a 'situation' on sunday i was at my nephews 2nd birthday party  (I have him and a 14 week old niece and unfortunately arnt coming to the wedding) talking to my cousin who has a 9 year old daughter and 4 year old son and they are getting ready to book she was asking me how i was getting on with the planning and i was telling her what ive done and still have to do when she asked me if her daughter could be a bridesmaid i explained that i wasnt having any little ones as it doesnt feel right to me if i cant have my own niece there she kind of said it doesnt have to be official but it still doesnt feel right to me am i being mean?

Yes thats right, at least November! omg dont be silly your not being mean at all, its your wedding and your cousin needs to realise this, i think its a bit rude of her to even put on the spot like that tbh. Sounds like my siter in law a bit, she cried to her mum and dad when she put me on the spot (the day we got engaged) and said 'so whos going to be your bridesmaid', i just replied and said i hadnt even thought about it yet, richard went to work the next day his dad said to him (sister in law) is really upset she wasnt asked?! family members just expect to be asked but just follow your heart and go with what you want, its all about you on the day! chat soon xx

I got majoirty of favours etc on ebay. We got passport invitations and we're really pleased with them, i still have the ladies number if you ever need it, she's going to do us some camera cards for on the table also. Picked up our bits from solicitor today, now all we need to sort out are groomsmen outfits, bridesmaid dresses and photographer, oh and to finally pay off my dress lol! Nic xxx

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
