Whats the Deal w/Liquids & Airplanes?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what the definitive answer is for bringing water bottles on the flight (I'm thinking of doing this for the OOT room bags. I'm assuming that its ok to "check" them as long as you aren't bringing them into the flight cabin with you?

Also wondering what everyone is doing as far as bringing them with, or purchasing/saving them while you're down there? We'll only be on site for 2 days prior to our wedding, so I'm not sure what we should do.

Thanks in advance. I love this place!

As long as liquids are checked there shouldn't be a problem.

We brought most of our stuff with us, but we bought PDC shot glasses for everyone while we were down there to put in the OOT bags.

Just keep in mind though that you'll be charged for your luggage being overweight (it cost us close to $700 total - coming & going). We had to upgrade to first class on the way down, and coming back first class was full so we had to pay for the weight. It would have just been cheaper for us to buy a lot of our stuff down there!!

Water bottles can implode on the plane too. On a recent trip I cheked a diet coke & a bottle of water. Both leaked all over my stuff. I think you might as well buy it when you get there. Some AIs give you free bottles of water.

You can only carry on containers up to 3 oz. I like to have a bottle of water when i fly, so I take an empty bottle with me & then fill it up in the fountain when i get past security. I can't always find them for sale in the terminal.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
