Why choose a DW??

Recommended Posts

We chose a DW for many reasons.

- Budget can be stretched a little bit further

- Limit our guests count

-Want a Wedding/Honeymoon all together

-Beach ceremony

-Love traveling so prefer a intimate wedding

-FI didn't like an idea of a reception to hold over 200 guests.

and other various reasons. But those are the main ones.

We chose a DW because it is more cost efficient, it is a small more intimate wedding, we love to travel and we would get to add one more place to our list. This place would just happen to be extra special. I am not willing to spend 25-30k to host a wedding in the states with people who I haven't seen or spoken to in years. Therefore, DW was the perfect fit for us.

We chose a destination wedding because its more affordable, we wanted a smaller wedding without having to hurt anyone's feelings about not getting invited (our plan has worked perfectly, invited 200, about 60 coming!) we love to vacation with our family and friends (so why not everyone together), and I didn't want to stress ably tiny details (the beauty of the resort and its surroundings are plenty!)

My dream wedding has always been on a beach. I never knew the when or where's, but always knew that is what I wanted. So when we got engaged in PV, it made the decision extremely easy to just head back there. I am huge on sentimentality, and because neither of us are particularly close with our families, it makes sense to head down there and have a small, intimate ceremony with our closest families and friends. I know people's feelings will be hurt and not everyone will be able to make it. But it's the wedding of our dreams, in a place that holds a near and dear place in our hearts. We want to share that with our family and friends.

Both our families are spread all over the world so if travelling was a must, why not travel to a beautiful beach and all enjoy a vacation together!! This also helps keep the guest list small and that is a huge money saver. It is also the first time all of us got together like this so it was super special.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
