Hello everyone,

I have booked my wedding for June 13 2013.  I purchased the paradise package, but now am wondering if making my own might of been a better idea, since it really doesn't include that much!  I am bringing my own flowers (silk) as I only have two bridesmaids and am also having an at home reception and going to use the same flowers.  I cant decide between beach or garden ceremony.  Is anyone else wearing shoes?  I have these amazing vera wang shoes that I am in love in and want to wear, but I am unsure about walking in them in the sand?  Also, does anyone know if you have to pay extra for the canopy at the ceremony and isle runner?  I haven't booked a photographer yet as I am not sure about the one they have at the resort and am still looking at reviews for outside vendors (any recommendations?)  I am not doing a private reception, just the dinner at one of the restaurants for 1.5 hours.  We are planning to light floating lanterns off on the beach at sunset and using the speakers ($190 charge) for our first dance after that.  If anyone has any recent pictures or other information I would love to hear!

Happy planning!

I just got married at the Iberostar Cancun on Friday and it was beautiful! All of our guests loved the hotel. We had planned a beach wedding but after viewing the property determined the garden would be best for us. The view is spectacular, less windy, more private, and easier for guests than walking in the sand. We still did beach photos after the ceremony. We had a great experience with David, who is the hotel photographer. I can try post pictures when I get home if you would find that helpful. Overall, fantastic experience. Everything went great!

Thanks for the well wishes!  I am excited for your big day and for you to see the resort and all it has to offer when Mary arrives.  Sorry for the error with the photo, I didn't realize I didn't have permission to download.  Please try this link instead.  There's probably more here than you want to see, but this is the easiest way to share some photos when I can't download.  This is a slideshow the hotel photographer put together for us.  Best wishes with your planning!

Thanks for the well wishes!  I didn't realize the photo I posted had an error.  Here is a link to a slideshow the hotel photographer put together for us. There is probably more here than you want to see, but given I can't download a photo this is the best way to share so you can see what the Garden area and terrace look like.  I'm excited for your big day coming up and for you to see all the resort has to offer.  We absolutely loved it!

Hi!  I'm getting married at the Iberostar Cancun on May 31st.  I am only having 13 guest and we are doing the basic package along with a sound system to play music at the ceremony.  Unfortunately, I'm not able to get any good advice on how many songs I should bring for the ceremony.  I assumed one song before the processional, processional song, and a few more of songs we like plus our wedding song to dance to.  Can anyone let me know what they put together for their wedding, song-wise?  Any tips?  Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
