Hi! I am in the process of booking my wedding at the Iberostar Cancun for July 2013. how is the planning going so far? Are you finding Rosy the coordinator to be responsive? Are there a lot of extras outside of the packages they are having you pay for?

It has been crazy planning this wedding. Rosy is now the third coordinator i've worked with. She just took over so i am not sure how she is. I emailed her last week with a list of questions and i am still waiting for her to get back to me. so we'll see. The place looks beautiful and they have been getting great reviews but as far as a wedding there i haven't seen much myself and been stalking online constantly and still nothing. It is definitely making me a little nervous and so far i have about 70 people coming. Hope she gets back to me soon so we can get this process moving along.. how has rosy been with your planning?

I know what you mean, I havent seen a thing about Iberostar Cancun weddings...it makes me nervous. I actually was originally having my wedding at the grand but just changes it to the Cancun. So im starting over easentially. I was pretty deep in the process at the other resort, also owned by iberostar. The coordinator at the grand was very responsive...Rosy not so much ;( Not excited to hear that u have been through 3 coordinators already..that is not fair to you! Have you decided where u will hold ur ceremony and reception in the complex? Any additional info u can share about weddings there? Thanks! Vanessa

I am about to book my wedding for October 2013 at Iberostar Cancun or Iberostar Paraiso Maya.  We will make our finally decision by next week.  Any suggestions on why Iberostar Cancun?  Is the process any better with Rosie?

OMG thats horrible vanessa! i am thinking of changing mine if rosie doesn't email me back by tomorrow with some changes because i finally called mexico today and spoke with her directly after several emails with the details i want for my wedding and an estimated price only not to recieve anything back. She told me today that i cannot do a reception on the beach without having at least 100 people or more and i am only around 70-75 right now. i also cannot have a buffet having less than 100 people. So i am a little upset with that because no one told me orginally when i was planning this that information. I am open to the other options if i like them so she is sending me pictures of the terrace and the menus of a sit down dinner and my options. we will go from there. i am hoping it is fine and i can stay with this place but if not i am switching. it sucks because the place looks absolutely gorgeous and the reviews are amazing so i would really hate to switch.. = (

@vanessa.. why did you change hotels if you don't mind me asking.. also, was it difficult and did you have guests that already put deposits down and did you lose your deposit at all?

I am getting married at the Iberostar Cancun in March 2013. Equally as nervous as you are due to Rosy's slow response time and not getting a lot of clarity on details. I will report back for sure. I did find that getting my travel agent involved was really helpful for getting responses. We had to jump through a lot of hoops for making wedding payments (tons of documentation like providing color copy of credit card) so that was an inconvenience for my mom. I didn't like any of the packages so Rosy did put together an individual one for me, which seemed to work well and is comparable in cost but with the specifics I want. Does anyone have any idea what the ceremony actually entails? I can't find anything on that.

i am also making my own package up with rosie and it has been better working with her and the hotel. I am waiting back to hear from another person on here who was married there in december but she hasn't been on since her wedding. I am dying to know how everything went. i am still so nervous! haha.. are you planning on doing a reception outside or something in one of their restaurants? also, what photograppher are u using?

Sorry I have been MIA! I still haven't heard from anyone actually married there... Makes me a little uneasy. Rosy is answering some emails. I chose the biggest package...which doesn't really include that much unfortunately. So far i still don't have a lot of the details ironed out because i still don't have prices for flower arrangements (I've been asking for a quote for a OVER a month and a half with just a response saying I'm checking with the florist), still looking for photog and video, still haven't heard if my ceremony will look the way i want it to and how much it will cost, the only thing that i have booked is DJ. am still looking into video and photog because Seems too expensive. I am having a smaller wedding 30-40 ppl. On the beach ceremony with sit down dinner at one of the restaurants. I changed from iberostar grand because everything was getting too expensive!! Rooms went up tremendously from when I originally decided and prices for decor and so on was getting ridiculous. It wasn't hard to change because it was owned by same company.

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
