Thanks for all of the info jbascetta209! The pictures you sent are amazing, it's so exciting! I am from Chicago, of mexican decent. My parents were born in Mexico. $408 for a 3 night stay is pretty awesome! I def have to look into pricing. We will def be staying in a kid friendly hotel because we have quite a few nephews attending the wedding! I will also be sending save the dates a year in advance too! The store that you recommended is awesome, so many cute ideas! Thanks so much for sharing! I feel like you are way more advanced on your planning then I am!

The Chapel of Guadalupe looks amazing! That is why we booked our wedding in Xcaret - I was looking for a breathtaking ceromony location and when I saw pics to this chapel I was astounded! I absolutely love it! Thanks again for sharing! I have gone to http://www.delsolphotography.com/blog/index.php to look at their xcaret wedding albums and they are all amazing!

I am also of MExican descent... my father is full Italian and got drafted in the 60's to San Antonio, TX, where he met my Mexican Mama who was working at the army base. I am super jealous you have that chapel!! lol... I have fear of some of our older guests making it down the stairs, and let's be honest, I'm afraid too lol, that's why we chose to have the ceremony at the hilltop, Have you ever been to Xcaret? My husband and I have gone twice over the past 6 years... it's spectacular! The atmosphere is so overwhelming, in a good way! There are things that are so beautiful there it will move you to tears!

Do you have a facebook? I would love to be friends and share some ideas... My full name is Jill Finelli Bascetta...

The del Sol photgraphs are gorgeous... Can't wait!!!

@ jbascetta209...I just added you on facebook! Aww, what an cute story with your parents! You have the best of both worlds, Italian & Mexican what a nice mix of cultures! I have to admit that I had those steps at the chapel in mind when I made my decision but I just had to take the risk, lol! It's too gorgeous!

We were in Playa del Carmen last fall but we didn't go to Xcaret. I fell in love with the location through pictures and I have not read one bad review so I went with my gut feeling. I want to take a visit very soon though!

    • The cooking method can double the calorie content of a meal, so learn about healthy cooking without having to add extra fats, like using a steamer,  a rotisserie , a slow cooker , a pressure cooker, a grill. Once you cook your own meals, you can control the calorie content because your control the cooking method and all the ingredients. A lot of people are overweight because they keep eating food that they did not cook.
    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
